Up until the weekend, I’d never heard of a Liebster Award, and now I’ve been nominated for two! Liebster awards are nominated for by bloggers. A blogger nominates other bloggers who they enjoy reading, and give them a few questions to answer. In turn, the nominee answers the questions and then nominates their own award winners.
I think this is a fabulous idea, because:
- It is lovely when someone randomly reads you and nominates you.
- You get to learn a little more about the bloggers you nominate.
This is a win/win situation for me!
My first nomination came from ZaraLipstixx of thelipstixxdiaries.com after she read my Pin Up Perfection blog back in June. I unfortunately wasn’t getting notifications of people’s comments so I didn’t notice until around a week ago. Better late than never, right?

What got me into blogging
I made friends with a lot of amazing ladies, in the plus size community and they all encouraged me to do it. Being as I was undergoing a style and confidence change, I wasn’t sure if anyone would read my adventure/lifestyle/fashion ramblings but I’ve had so much support that I keep writing, because it makes me happy!

If I could live in another country for a year, where would it be?
Germany – I have never been there, but always wanted to go. I loved the language and did my GCSE in it, and also worked at a travel company talking to German customers. However, I have lost pretty much all my vocabulary, and would love to become fluent in it again.

Biggest achievement so far?
Whilst I have set myself many challenges over the last year, including Catwalk Modelling, Blogging, Karaoke,Zipwires through the rainforest and raising money for charity, My biggest achievement will always be my twin daughters, Alexa and Caragh. The apples of my eye!
A beauty product I can’t live without
I am greedy here. It has to be two! Matte Red lipstick and black liquid liner. What every vintage loving girl needs in her make up bag. I’ve tried them all, expensive high end right down to bargain basement and the ones I recommend for longevity and application are Collection 2000 liquid eyeliner and MUA Velvet lips.
Favourite item of clothing
I am a PUG (pin up girl clothing) Fanatic and spend most of my time wearing them. My favourite has to be the Ella dress in Alice in Wonderland print. The quirky print, colours and characters are amazing. It even has the Dormouse in a teapot on it.
Favourite artist/band/musician
This has to be, without a doubt, Ella Fitzgerald. I’ve loved her since I was about 12-13 and not a day goes by without me listening to her. For a more contemporary idol, I have been a Prince fan for 30 years. I was so lucky to get to see him in Birmingham last year. It made all my dreams come true!
