I have been an avid reader of Vintage Life Magazine for several months now. For those of you not acquainted with it, it is a wonderful glossy magazine devoted to the love of all that is Vintage.
I adore everything about it, the features, the photographs, the beautiful clothes and even the adverts showing where I can spend my pennies on!
Full of vintagey goodness, I can’t wait for my copy to land on the doorstep every month and I can immerse myself in past times, whilst drooling over the amazing things shown inside.
Just think of it as “Vogue” for the Vintage Lover.
I originally signed up for their subscription when meeting them and their lovely Editor – Rae Egglestone-Evans at Twinwood in August 2015. The convenience of having the magazine delivered is one I love. It can be tricky to find the magazine in our local retailers, so this was a perfect option for me.
Subscribing to the magazine really reduces the price, a one year subscription is at the bargain price of only £35.99, making the magazine just £2.99 a copy. This is a big difference as the shelf price is £4.25, and the subscription price includes postage too! Well, it would be silly not to sign up for the year! And that is exactly what I did.
Recently I was lucky AND absolutely over the moon to have been featured in their regular page “My Style” I wasn’t aware of when the post would be published, so when February’s copy arrived, I was overjoyed to see myself in a full page article, talking about 5 of my favourite outfits. All of the clothing shown is reproduction vintage, from companies such as Pin Up Girl Clothing, Collectif, Lady Voluptuous and Voodoo Vixen.
The article showcases each outfit, talking about why I like it and includes a photograph of me in each one.
It was so strange to see myself in such a wonderful and held in high esteem magazine. Each of my photograph’s brought back fabulous memories of where and who took them. A couple of them were taken at a photoshoot I had last year – read my original blog here and the others were taken by family members on specific days out.
Pictures were taken in Winchester and London. Adventures were had whilst wearing some amazing clothing and accessories.
Not only do I have the memories of the days out, but I now have the amazing memory of having been included in my favourite magazine!
I have put my copy in my memory box. After all, this is something that I can look back on in years to come. It really was an honour to have been included and is another experience that I can look back on with a huge smile on my face.
And if like me, you can’t get enough of the Vintage style, why not get your hands on a copy of Vintage Life!
Thank you so much Rae and all the team for allowing me to grace the pages of your beautiful magazine. I can’t wait to read the next edition.
