As you all know I have been a big fan of Ewa Michalak lingerie ever she managed to get a bra that fit me perfectly (Read my story here). Since then I haven’t worn any other brands and it has been life transforming.
You may also have seen a post I did recently of a made to measure bikini that she sent me to test out, which was superb. Ever since being introduced to the lovely Ewa by the equally amazing Caroline from Curvy Wordy, I have been really lucky to become an owner of quite a few of her pieces.
So I was surprised and delighted to receive a surprise package in the mail from Ewa a week or so ago. I hadn’t ordered anything, so I really didn’t know what to expect.
Opening the box I was astounded to see three beautiful bras; The Pin Up, The Roma and the Klejnot, all in the FB (fuller bust) style.
The first bra I removed from the packaging was a stunning floral bra called the Roma. The cups were brightly coloured with coordinating black piping, straps and back panel. The bra was finished off with hot pink bows on the straps and the center gore. It really was very pretty indeed.
The second bra was even more lovely. The Klejnot, A beautiful black bra with an overlay of lace featuring silver flowers. The whole bra was black, finished off with little sparkly holographic buttons on the straps and the centre gore. I liked the first one, but this really was right up my street.
The last bra looked like it had been designed just for me. The Pin-Up is a Deep blue with a white polka dot, white piping and straps. Some lace ran down the middle of each strap, and to finish it off, red polka dot bows were on the straps, the central gore AND the bottom of the straps at the back. It had a lovely vintage look to it, and I was enchanted by it.
All of the bras came with individual silicone inserts for the shoulder straps. If you haven’t seen these before, they are little pads of silicone that slip under the straps and help distribute the weight of the breasts and stop the straps from digging into the shoulders.
Now, I can sometimes have an allergic reaction to silicone, but am happy to report that this was not the case with these new pads.
I thought I would wear each a different bra over the three days to get a good impression of them. Now if you are familiar with Ewa’s bras they are very big in the cup and tiny in the back.
This means that you do sometimes have to wear them in. As you probably know you should wear your bras on the loosest hook and as they stretch and you wear them in, you move up to the tighter hooks. If you wear your bra on the tightest set from brand new, once it stretches you have nowhere to go. The bra won’t then support and fit you well.
With Ewa it does take a few wears to get them “moulded” to your shape. After wearing for around 12 hours, like any bra it can be a little uncomfortable during the first couple of wears.
However, I can honestly say this wasn’t the case for the first two bras I wore. This was the floral and the black and silver.
I wore each for over 15 hours on a work day. I didn’t have and discomfort or rubbing. I wasn’t pinched or prodded by any wires. It literally felt like I had on my oldest, comfiest, worn out bra on. I went home, and when I normally throw my bra off the second I walk in the door, I didn’t.
I honestly couldn’t fault either of the first two bras. They fit perfectly and felt so good on.
The third bra, the blue polka dot which was my favourite wasn’t quite as comfortable as the other two. Now, don’t get me wrong, there is nothing negative I could say about it and it fit amazingly well. It just isn’t quite as comfortable as the other YET!
I am sure that the polka dot will become just as comfortable as all my other Ewa bra’s. It just feels a little stiffer than the first two. I guess having had those be so amazing I was a little spoilt and didn’t expect the third one to feel like all my Ewa bras normally do.
Either way, all three bras are fantastic and it is just so lovely to have pretty, well designed and sewn bras in sizes for us bigger ladies. There is no need to wear plain and ugly bras when you can get them as beautiful as these.
I am told the bras will be on the website in the next couple of weeks, so keep your eyes peeled for them. I promise you won’t be sorry.
I just need to convince Ewa to make some matching knickers in my size now!!
