As you may know, I recently entered a competition to become a Yours Blogger for a year and was lucky enough to be picked for the shortlisted ten finalists.
Now the last part of the competition was to write a final blog and either send it to Yours Clothing direct, or post it on my blog.
I decided that I would send the blog directly to Yours, and then post my entry once the competition was over.
What actually happened was I wrote TWO blog posts and sent them off to Yours Clothing.
Why did I do that? Well for a few reasons. The main one being that they didn’t say you couldn’t! My first post was talking about Yours and what I thought of the company and why it was important to the Plus Size Community. My second post was why it was important to me and why I would be a good advocate for them.
The deadline was Wednesday 18th with the results of the competition due to be released on Friday 20th January. And I was as nervous as hell!
I sent my entry through on Sunday 15th January. Now all I had to do was wait.
At approximately 3.15pm on Friday I was contacted by Rosie to say I had been unsuccessful in becoming one of the five winners.
I will be honest, I was gutted. I really felt that it was time a spokesperson for the over 40+ had a platform to speak from. But I know the successful ladies are all worthy of winning too.
Whilst I was unsuccessful this time around, it doesn’t mean I am a loser. Two years ago I would never have even entered something like this. So its a win-win situation as far as I am concerned.
I thoroughly enjoyed the process and even though I didn’t get chosen, I am proud of myself and what I have to say.
Even more so, I am proud of all those plus size ladies who entered the competition, supporting the plus size community and genuinely being themselves. We Rock!!
And to those amazing women who won, Congratulations! I can’t wait to see you all over the Yours Clothing website.
Oh and finally, this doesn’t mean I am going anywhere; I love my writing, my blogging and I still have so much to say!
Until next time,
Txx
