A couple of weeks ago I went down to London for the Viva Voluptuous Lingerie Catwalk show (read my post here)

Viva Voluptuous Launch Party

Now it was my first proper evening VIP event and I wanted to look my best. So, what on earth was I going to wear?

Well a couple of months ago I had bought a new Pin Up Girl Clothing outfit, the black satin Malibu Tiki dress and I hadn’t got around to wearing it. What better an occasion to wear it than a VIP lingerie launch?

I got up early and decided to try and do my hair in a vintage poodle style, something I had never done before and as I had plenty of time I thought it would be worth a try. It took me around 90 minutes as I had to use curling tongs to curl all of my hair, and then pin it up on top of my head. Finally I was happy with the end result and on went the makeup.

I eventually went to my spare bedroom where all my lovely dresses are stored and fetched out the black PUG dress and bolero. I have to admit, I hadn’t even tried it on. This was mainly because I already own three other Malibu Tiki dresses so assumed it would be ok.

Thankfully as soon as I slipped into it, it fit like a glove!

Back in Black

I accessorised with a vintage diamante bracelet and a little crown shaped brooch on my lapel. I topped it all off with a huge pink stargazer lily hair accessory and I was all set.

Heading down to London I certainly got a few looks and some wonderful comments from total strangers. Hitting the VIP event, I actually felt like a movie star, getting photographed all over the place!

First Class, Baby!

It was a fantastic event and I really loved seeing all the new lingerie. I definitely chose the best outfit to wear, as I felt like a movie star, classy and timeless, even though my daughter told me I looked like I was going to a funeral!

Cocktail Time

I know it won’t be the last time I wear this outfit out…. In fact I have a cocktail night coming up soon…..
