A few weeks ago you may have read an post I did about going to my friends Hen Night. Corinne, an old colleague of ours had a fabulous meal at a local Chinese buffet and we all had a whale of a time (see post here)
Now we have also been invited to her evening reception in the middle of March. And I have NOTHING to wear!
Don’t get me wrong. I have wardrobes of dresses, however all of them have been worn and photographed umpteen times. As this is a special occasion I really want to wear something new, and possibly a little different to my normal style.
To make things even more difficult I have purchased a hat. Most people get the dress first and match the accessories. However, my very good friend Jane has taken up Millinery and I saw this little beauty and fell in love with it.

Now, I know most people don’t wear hats to evening events, but Corinne knows me well enough to know I don’t stick to general protocol. It is dainty, delicate little hat, not an Ascot special and now I need to try and find a complimentary outfit without breaking the bank.
But the hat I have is a tricky colour to get right. It is a blush pink/creamy nude colour. So what colour dress do I get to compliment it?
Initially I thought Navy Blue, then Teal, Purple or maybe even an emerald green. This of course sent me on a hunt for the perfect dress. I looked at numerous sites, and now I need to choose what I am going to wear.

I have chosen my favourite outfits from a few sites. I now need to make a decision of which way to go. Currently my favourite stands as the Dolly and Dotty Darlene in Purple Spot or possibly the River Island Floral Culotte Jumpsuit. I just need to find out what colour the spots are!
