Sunday 12th February saw the highlight of my blogging life when I won the “StyleXL Most Inspiring Blogger” award. It was totally unexpected and also came with a lovely surprise.
Yours Clothing had sponsored the award and I was given a £100 voucher to spend on anything I liked. Well of course that was a wonderful addition to the award and I have been eagerly perusing the website to see what I could get.
I have managed to put several things on a wishlist, but kept holding back on ordering, thinking I may see something later that I would want instead and to not rush in and spend all the money!
I have to say I was so glad that I had once I saw what was available from the new Hell Bunny range. Now this is a range that I have never previously bought from as their biggest size had been a 20-22 (4XL) and I knew it would never fit me.
However the range with Yours has been expanded and they offer dresses in sizes 16 to 30/32. The dresses are absolutely beautiful and so I knew I wanted to spend some of the money on one of them.
Which one to choose though?
I had managed to narrow it down to two specific dresses, a green tropic print or the Leah tea dress, but I couldn’t decided. I did what any normal person would do. I asked my male colleague which he preferred.
We discussed the merits of them both, and I finally decided on the Magnolia and Red Rose Double Layered Leah Tea Dress at £60.00
The dress itself is a 40’s style button down dress with a beautiful pattern of dark pink and red roses. The front has a row of little pearl buttons which give it an even more vintage feel. It looked perfect to me and so I placed my order and waited for it to arrive.
I plan to wear the dress with a cream petticoat that I already own. All I need now is the right shoes and jewellery. I think I already have a wonderful matching hat ( I just need to compare the colour to the dress)
A few days later a package arrived for me. Of course I couldn’t wait and eagerly tore into the bag.
I was not disappointed!
This dress reminds me of vintage garden parties, croquet on the lawn and little cucumber sandwiches. I can’t wait for the summer to arrive so it can have even more outings.
The dress has a thin strapped “under dress” and the top section is quite sheer. It gives a lovely light feel to it and hangs really well.
The sleeves are lovely and quite unusual as they have a little V shaped crossover section. This all adds to the prettiness of the dress, in my opinion.
I wore this to a big family lunch at an Aunt and Uncles house. They have a lovely garden with a beautiful pond and waterfall, so I cheekily asked if I could use it as a backdrop to some blog photographs.
Thankfully they said yes and I think these all came out amazing!
Even the tiniest of details have been well thought out, such as the pearl buttons and the pleats in the skirt which make it full without looking too overdone.
To say I am a fan of this dress is an understatement. It is a stunner and I am so happy that I decided to give it a go.
I have a wedding to go to in September and I am very tempted to get the green one as a possible outfit for the special day. I just need another hat to go with it now!
Are you a Hell Bunny Fan? How would you style this dress?
Till next time
