If you read my previous post you will know all about my lovely friend Rachel setting up a vintage clothing and accessory company called Lucy loves Violet. See hear to read more.
Lucy Loves Violet started life at the beginning of March and has been adding more products every week.
As an introduction to the company, Rachel sent me a beautiful Dolly and Dotty dress to review, the Cindy in a floral pattern.
I was really excited when the dotty packaging arrived on my doorstep.
The dress was lovingly wrapped in purple tissue (which I accidentally ripped in my haste to open the outer bag)
There was also a little purple and white striped bag with some parma violets in and a lovely little thank you card. It certainly was a wonderful package to open.
Now for the dress itself.
The Cindy has a lovely reverse shawl style collar to the front which drops into a lower back section; certainly very different for anything else I currently own.
I decided to wear this over the Easter break with some little kitten heels, flower in my hair and a little clutch bag. The dress I tried was a size 26 and fitted like a dream. This dress does not come with a belt, so some of you may like to add one for effect.
The quality of the material is fantastic. A lovely mid weight cotton with a vintage floral pattern to it. You could accessorise with many colours, pink, red, cream or indeed black.
In my opinion this dress is multipurpose. You could wear it out to the shops, for a little spot of lunch or sparkled up with some glitzy jewellery and heels for a night out on the town.
I felt the dress could benefit from a petticoat underneath however the ones I own were all a little too long and as I personally don’t like to see a petticoat on show, I decided to go without for this particular dress.
I plan to get a shorter petticoat so I can wear it with or without, depending on my mood.
Rachel is currently stocking clothing from Voodoo Vixen, Collectif, Dolly and Dotty, Lindybop , Hell Bunny and Lady Voluptuous. She is also increasing her range week by week. She also has a small selection of bags which I adore, including this snazzy telephone.
To help her get off to a flying start we have decided to host a competition to be in with a chance to win a £50 credit to spend on her website
Just enter the Rafflecopter below to be in with a chance to be the lucky winner. Entries close on 20th May 2017
