With my job I only get a 30 minute lunch break. You can’t do much damage in 30 minutes, can you?
Well I did today.
Our shopping centre is a 5 minute walk from work. Well, it takes a normal person around 2 minutes but I have short little legs that don’t move too quickly.
Anyway I decided to pop to Superdrug for a new shower cap. I put my regular one on this morning and the elastic had perished and it looked like I was wearing a carrier bag on my head!
I only wanted a shower cap, What precisely could go wrong?
£36.01 later I left Superdrug.
Either it was a very expensive shower cap or some other goodies drew my eye. Well yes, you’ve guessed it.
Walking into our Superdrug you are immediately faced by rows of bright, gorgeous colourful make-up stands. I needed a new lipstick, so it would be silly not to have a look whilst I was in there…
So what exactly did I purchase?
Essential Purchases –
1. Pink Shower Cap £1.99
2. Jerome Russell Bblonde powder bleach £3.99. Used with cream peroxide to bleach my roots!
3. 2 X Jerome Russell Bblonde cream peroxide £1.69 each. (Used with the above)
4. 2 X bottles of Superdrug extra firm hold setting lotion £1.49 each. Perfect for using on pin curls for a vintage set.
Goodies that I couldn’t resist!
1. MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in Tranquility £3.00
2. MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in Dash £3.00
3. MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Laquer in Moxie £3.00
I have been using the MUA Luxe Velvet Laquers for several months now, but I only use the one shade with is a vivid post box red (Reckless) and I love it. It has a very quick drying Matte effect and stays on really well.
Eventually it will dry and crack a little needing a new application, however for a night out or if I am eating/drinking it is fantastic as it does not smudge or transfer to your drinking glass.
I decided to try the other shades to compliment some recent clothes I have brought where Red lips would be too strong.
I tested them on my arm whilst at work, believing I had make-up remover with me. Fatal error!
4. Make Up Revolution Double Flick Liquid Eyeliner in Black £3.50
A vintage Gal always needs her cats eye flicked eyeliner, and we all know how difficult it us to get it right, or a good product to do it with. This double ended eyeliner was used on me and highly recommended by the Make up artist at a recent modelling shoot I did. It looked great and lasted all day. At such a great price it was silly not to grab one for my own cosmetic bag.
5.MUA Luxe Glow Beam Liquid Highlight cushion £5.00
I currently don’t have a highlighter, mainly as I don’t really know what I should be doing with it, however I couldn’t resist this as it was just so pretty!
A chunky white compact complete with a little rubbery applicator pad is found, before lifting the lid on a round piece of golden brown sponge.
When you use the pad or even your finger, a stunning golden liquid highlight is then produced for you to put on the places you want to make shine. Gorgeous! I just need to learn how to use it now.
6. Barry M Gelly Hi Shine Nail Paint in Blood Orange £3.99
I have been having regular nail appointments where a layer of acrylic has been put over my nails to try and grow and strengthen them after too many years of wearing acrylic tips. They have now become long enough to get away with just wearing gel polish, which I usually go for a red colour.
Again due to the recent modelling I decided to go with just a clear gel polish to help protect them, but I am now desperate for a bit of colour. In comes the Barry M polish in a stunning red to make me feel more normal.
7. L’Oreal COLORISTA Washout in Indigo £6.00
Lastly I have been wanting to add a few chunks of colour to my hair for awhile, however due to my full time job I have to be very careful. When I saw this colour that washes out, I just couldn’t resist it. My plan is to do some sections under my hair so they can be hidden with the top layer, yet on show when I put into rolls or vintage up-do’s. I hope this is going to be successful, but I am a bit dubious. Watch this space.
So there, that was my Superdrug haul. Anything there that takes your fancy? What do you think to the Indigo dye?
Till next time
