So, many of you know I have a new love in my life… My baba, Theodore the Chow Chow. We got him at the beginning of June and he will be 9 months old on the 15th of November.
He has taken over the whole house. He is funny, adorable, silly, obstinate, clumsy and a bit dopey. But he is also loving, protective, loyal and true. He idolises Grandma, and is still in that excitable stage where he leaps about 2 foot off the floor when anyone comes home from work.
I have posted umpteen photo’s of him on social media and he is always a huge hit. Whenever we go out for walks or on outings, we get stopped by people asking what he is, his name, how old, how fluffy is he etc

I can tell you that it takes a LONG while to get anywhere with him. But he is worth it, as he has brought so much joy to us all.
So it was lovely to get an email from Mathew over at Pure Pet Food asking me if Theodore would love to try out some of their product. Well it was the first offer my baby had been sent, so of course we said we would love to give it a go.
Pure Pet Food was the brainchild of Mat and Dan when they started questioning why we consumers would feed our pets something we would never consider putting on our own plates.
Back in 2012 they saved up and bought a dehydration machine and started producing their own recipes which they gave to family and friends to act as guinea pigs.
Of course the food went down a storm and in 2013 they moved into some premises and started developing the brand even more. A trip to Dragons Den came a few years later and was so well received they actually turned down the offers from the dragons and went it alone.
Fast forward a few years and Pure Pet Food is now sold online and in stores such as Pets at Home. The dehydrated food has been joined by a freeze dried range and with tasty treats from beef to duck to even a fish supper, the range actually satisfies ever dog’s palate.
Due to the natural ingredients, the range is particularly good for fussy pets and pets with conditions such as IBS and sensitive stomachs. If you have a quick look on their website, there are numerous success stories of people and their dogs who have overcome skin issues and more, again due to the of pure natural ingredients.
So, it was all sounding good and we awaited our delivery.
A day or so later a box arrived containing a 500g pack of Brilliant Beef. Now I say it’s called brilliant beef but it contains more than just beef, in fact it has 7 parsnips, 3/4 bunch of carrots, 1/2 a coconut and 1/2 a bunch of celery!
The box contained a dehydrated powder which makes 2kg of food once rehydrated, a measuring scoop and a bag clip to seal it once opened.
As well as being Pure, it is definitely Simple too! Using your dogs weight it tells, you how many scoops of powder to use, and how many scoops of warm water to add.
Once added, you mix well and leave for 5-10 minutes to hydrate. Then you serve!
We did all this and waited the minutes needed. Theodore was extremely excited and literally was bouncing around the kitchen – He actually jumps up in the air all four paws off the ground. It is a sight to see!
Of course, he couldn’t wait to tuck into the food and wolfed it down in a matter of minutes. In fact I think it took longer to rehydrate than it did for him to eat it, so clearly it was a huge hit with him.
Given that Theodore is a extra large puppy, we gave him the maximum amount of scoops on the instructions, and it did make a huge bowl of food.

We managed to get three meals out of the box, as we gave him smaller portions the next time as it did seem like a huge amount in one go.
He enjoyed as much the second and third time as he did the first, so it is definitely something I would purchase for him. After all, there is so much goodness in the box it really will keep my baby in the tip top condition that any pet owner would want.
