In a recent post I reviewed the lovely Betty spectacles which I had been sent by Caroline and Lauretta over at Retropeepers, which if you missed it can be found here
They absolutely loved my write up and sent me an email afterwards telling me they were getting a new range of glasses in, ready for Christmas.
Of course I was over the moon at the chance to try another pair and so Lauretta introduced me to the marvellous “Zsa Zsa”
Available in a choice of four glitter colours, Gold, Silver, Purple and Red. I loved all the colours so how was I to pick my favourite?
So I tried to narrow it down. I discarded the Silver as I though it would be too similar to my hair colour. This also led to the Gold being discarded as I thought it would clash with the grey hair.
That left me with Purple and Red. which were both stunning and I really wasn’t able to choose which I liked best.
Of course there was only one thing left to do…..
Toss a coin!
Well, who was the winner? The stunning scarlet pair was my choice and so I sent a reply back to Lauretta asking if I could try the red pair.
To be honest as these glasses are a new range in time for Christmas, red really was the most appropriate colour choice.
I then went off to France for a few days and on my return, I was excited to find a packet on my doorstep.
Once Inside I was delighted to see a gorgeous Chinese silk style case, with a little Gold bell and cream tassel. What a really unusual way to store glasses and also very beautiful.
Once I opened the bag, I was extremely pleased with the contents. The most sparkly pair of glasses I have ever seen.
The red glitter is a bright telephone box red. The glitter covers the whole of the front of the glasses and also a section on each arm approximately 1.3″ long.
The frame is a lightweight Silver coloured metal with black ear sections.
I was extremely excited to try them on. Now as I was still wearing my green Betty’s it was easy enough to swap them over.
And I was really glad I did as they looked FABULOUS!
Having a very vintage shape, I struggled to try and categorise the specific style as they do have a kind of cat’s eye feel, but without the pointed/curved outside edge. These are more of a rounded style yet still with a vintage vibe.
Initially when I received the glasses, I wanted to start sharing and posting on my social media, however Lauretta advised me that the glasses were not yet ready for their website so I needed to wait a couple of weeks before premiering them.
Of course as soon as I was given the all clear to start shouting from the rooftops, that is exactly what I did!
The glasses are a great quality and for a pair with plain glass, the super amazing price of £19.00 means they won’t break the bank. With standard prescription lenses in, they still come in around the £30 mark which is a steal compared to some of the high street opticians. If you have them with anti-scratch/anti-reflection they are only £41! I mean who could say no to those prices.
I am sure these glasses will be the talking point whenever I wear them and they will really make me sparkle this Christmas!
I am now already looking at purchasing my next pair. I am thing Marilyn in red…. Watch this space.
What do you think? Which pair should I have chosen?
Till next time,
Txx
