A few weeks ago I had a lovely email from Cerys at Quiz Clothing telling me they liked my blog and wanted to send me a Christmas Gift from their Party Dresses range especially chosen by their Stylists. All I needed to do was let them know my sizes.
Well, I thought that was pretty lovely of them and I graciously accepted.
Fast forward a week and I walked in after a long hard day at my full time job to a rather large parcel sat on my sofa.
Eagerly opening the package, I was surprised to see not one, not two but three gifts inside!
Firstly, a dress I had been looking at recently. The gorgeous black glitter cape frill dress from their Curve Range which they launched at the beginning of the year. A stunner of a dress it features a straight black pencil dress in a very stretchy yet firm holding material, going up to a wonderful cape overlay with a subtle glitter and cold shoulder detail.
The dress was absolutely gorgeous, classy yet sparkling enough for any Christmas Party. This was sent to me in a size 26 which was true to size and fitted like a dream.
The second present was a beautiful suede Terracotta clutch bag embellished with a metal closure. The feeling of the bag was very luxurious yet practical with the capabilities of using it as a clutch, or with one of the two enclosed chains, a long chain that makes the bag reach to mid torso, and a shorter chain for hanging off your arm.
To match the bag was a pair of their barely there terracotta frill shoes. A very high stiletto heel with a frilled suede ankle strap and a frilled suede toe strap. Utterly gorgeous and they matched the bag perfectly.
I was eager to put the outfit all together to see what it looked like. It was such a comfortable yet stylish look and I felt really confident in it.
The cape drapes my rather impressive chest and gives the illusion of being thinner than I actually am, as it slims the torso as the straight skirt smooths a few lumps and bumps. I really loved this about it.
The only issue I had with this dress is a personal one and no fault of Quiz. I have very small shoulder. From shoulder to shoulder they only measure 20 inches, and they are very sloped.
Whilst this gives a swan like silhouette, it meant that where the cold shoulder slits were, and the end of the cape, I had no shoulder to fill it.
Whilst this didn’t detract from the beautiful dress, I feel that if you have slightly broader shoulders/less slope, you would see the slit details much better.
Anyway, it didn’t detract from the whole outfit. When I put it together with the shoes and bag I felt amazing in it and I think you could tell. I love the contrast of the terracotta to the black and know this will be a combination I wear over and over again.
Fancy this outfit for yourself? Just click on the links and it will take you straight to the products. Sadly the bag is out of stock at the moment, but the shoes are now half price. What a bargain!
I can’t thank Quiz enough for sending me the early Christmas present, I will be making the most of the outfit over the festive period, of that you can be sure!
