Now, you may be forgiven for thinking this is a post about the Festive season. In fact I am talking about going away on another little jaunt!
As many of you know, I go on a fair few travels with my blogger pal, Boo of “Does my blog make me look fat!”
Together we have visited Disneyland Paris twice, Warsaw (Poland), Budapest (Hungary) Prague (Czech Republic) and Paris.
Now it was time for our latest jaunt. Where were we going, you might ask?
Ljubljana in Slovenia!
Now, it is not the first destination that springs to mind, however there was method to our madness.
Last December we went to the Christmas Markets in Prague. Whilst it was very beautiful, the temperatures were quite mild and I actually walked around without a coat on at a couple of points (This however was possibly due to middle aged women flushes!)
Whilst that was pretty great, I was kind of hoping to see snow, or at least a sharp frost; something to make it a little more festive and get us into the Christmas spirit, all to no avail.
So, this year when we were discussing where to visit, we decided to look further east; Croatia, Estonia, Slovenia etc in the hope of a more festive wintry environment.
Boo did all the research (as always) and we finally settled on 4 days in Slovenia staying at the Hotel Lev.
The flights were a great price (although multi-airport) and it means we arrive around 10am on Thursday and leave at 9pm on Sunday, giving us extra time in the Capital.
We have already booked a historical walking tour, a festive light walk and a boat tour.
Currently the temperature is between -2 and -10. For a girl who has never been anywhere colder than Scotland in August, this is a disturbing level of coldness. However there is also snow forecast. Bonus!
Travelling with only hand luggage allowance, this could be a little problematic. However it is another adventure, that’s for sure!
As always, my big camera will be coming with me (even if I have to leave clothes behind) so you can be sure I will bve writing and sharing my experiences of Slovenia.
Watch out for the later blog where I tell you all about how Super Slovenia was….
Till next time,
Tx
