I have a pretty healthy following on Instagram. When I say healthy, I mean a decent amount for a 43 year old Plus size mother of Twins. I am no celebrity, or famous for anything/nothing. But I have a loyal and very wonderful following of over 6000 people.
This to me is AMAZING.
Two years ago I had less than 1000 and it had taken me 3 years to get to that point. Then it sort of exploded!
It really has been a wonderful journey and I appreciate every single person that follows and interacts with me.
Saying that, it was still a surprise when the wonderful Peacock Pretties sent me a private message on Instagram.
I had posted a picture of my hair flower bowl which had got a little out of control and she messaged asking if she could contribute something to my burgeoning collection.
As we were getting to know each other and our style, it became apparent that I needed something stunning to wear with a dress that had been sent for me to review by Gatsbylady.
Although the company had sent me a beaded headband to wear which looked amazing, it was not something I would normally wear. During our discussion, Emma offered to make a headpiece that would compliment the dress perfectly.
And so I waited…….
Emma really knew how to increase my eagerness and anticipation by sending me little snapshots of the colours that would be included in the headpiece she was working on!
Eventually she let me know that the piece was ready. I could hardly wait!
Given that the Gatsbylady dress was plum, grey and gold, I was optimistic that Emma would have captured those colours.
And I was not wrong!
I eagerly opened my package to find a stunning feather and glitter creation. Gold peacock feathers, purple glitter feathers and a golden “brooch” like clip all merged to make a wonderful hair accessory. I literally didn’t know how to express my thanks to Emma.
I first wore the accessory with my wonderful Navabi beaded dress as I went to visit some dear friends on Christmas Eve.
However, the Gatsbylady flapper dress that Emma had designed the piece for was a little too fancy for this evening, so I decided I would wear it for New Years Eve instead.
Sadly, I wasn’t too well over Christmas/New Year and I never got round to wearing either the dress or hair accessory.
However I simply couldn’t wait to share it with you. It is beautiful beyond belief and I even wore it to work over the festive period!
I just need a special even where I can wear my flapper dress so I can debut Emma’s design too!
Any ideas??
Till next time,
Txxx
