A couple of years ago I was known in my circle of plus size blogger friends as the “Pin Up Girl Queen”.
This was due to me wearing pretty much 100% pin up girl clothing which I would buy in America and get shipped over. Most of them had either not heard of the brand or had never dared to order due to a lack of sizing knowledge and the risk of getting something that didn’t fit but would incur huge import charges.
I tried to shop savvy. Ordering my PUG fixes when they had a 40% off sale, or a Final Yard Sale. Special holidays such as Thanksgiving, 4th July (coincidentally my birthday) Christmas and Labor Day meant special sales and the money saved helped to pay towards the VAT and Import taxes.
Recently however, due to a) a lack of funds and b) owning pretty much as the dresses that I loved already I hadn’t been purchasing very much from PUG.
The odd top and skirt made its way into my basket and again I offset the duties by using their amazing sales codes.
I had also started experimenting more with forties style clothing and had purchased some items from Tatyana and Hell Bunny which opened up a new avenue of options.
However, for the past few months I have been lusting after a specific print that just kept catching my eye.
I first saw it when they had several different styles of dress and skirt and I really wanted to own it. But I was sadly skint; I think the washing machine had died or something like that and so a dress wasn’t on my list of priorities.
Every so often I would go and look at them, check my bank balance and think…. I will wait another couple of months and then it will be mine.
And then it happened…
The dress I had my eye on sold out.
Gutted!
I stopped looking at the range after that. I knew the item I wanted could never be mine.
That is until my Blogger Bestie Boo of Does my blog make me look fat sent me a Whatsapp message saying there was a big sale on. And the print I loved was in it!
Well I had to go and look, didn’t I?
And there is was. The Varla. The Vera and the Bernadette.
The Varla. A wiggle dress showcasing the Fetish Print that I loved. Now, having several of their wiggle dresses I know that they fit and also how great I feel when wearing them.
The Vera. A full skirted version with wide straps and a built in underskirt for fullness.
The Bernadette. A matching tulle bolero with collar and cuffs in the fetish print.
Decisions Decisions.
In the end I opted for the Vera (now sold out) and had to get the Bernadette to go with it.
What was even better was that Boo was going over to Colorado for her job and would be able to buy them and bring them back!
Bonus.
Now, all I have to do it wait for her to travel over to the USA and bring the goodies back to me.
Watch this space for the great unveiling.
What do you think to this fun fetish print? Would you dare to wear?
Till next time,
Txx
