A few days ago I was bimbling around on Facebook and saw a post from a stunning lady who was in one of the many groups I am a member of.
Sadly, I can’t remember the group at all (or I would thank the lady wholeheartedly) but she was showing off a new dress she had bought.
And I loved it.
Not my normal style, in fact SO far from my normal style that I would have bypassed it if I had seen it on a website. But on this gorgeous lady (please let me know/link me in to the post if you know who it is) I just loved it.
Of course, I asked who the dress was from, and was told that it was an ASOS dress.
Well, I haven’t bought much from ASOS recently as to be honest, usually it is massive on my short arse body. Being 5ft3 means that most things need 6 or 7 inches removed from them and this usually ruins the shape and style of the dress.
But I really liked this dress. I mean I REALLY liked it.
So of course I popped onto the site to see what it was all about.
Imagine my surprise when I found out it was only £32. Bargain or what?? I had a check to see if they had a size 26 and they did.
I may have had a couple of glasses of wine and it was all to easy to press the ‘add to basket’ button. Well, it was only money after all. And it *was* really pretty.
Two days later and there was an ASOS parcel waiting with one of my neighbours. By now I had criticised my judgement and thought that I had made a monumental mistake.
Oh well, I could always send the dress back!
Opening the package I was surprised to find the dress was made from a stretchy jersey material, and was very soft.
Ditching my work uniform, I pulled the dress over my head and was stunned to find how flattering and generous is was.
There is a super cute cut out at the back around the waist, and a circle cutout by the button at the top of the neck.
Whilst the sleeves are about an inch long on my short stumpy arms, this is nothing that I cannot cope with.
To be absolutely honest, although I ordered my regular size (26) I could have probably sized down to a 24, or even a 22 as the dress is very generous.
I love the spring like colours and I have the perfect hair flower and matching corsage to wear with it.
Even though this is totally out of my normal style, in that it has more of a 70’s vibe about it, I am really keen to wear it out. I love how I look and feel in this dress and I know it will get quite a bit of wear.
Green is not a colour I generally pick out as a colour that I feel I suit, but there was something about this dress that just called to me.
I am so glad I ordered it. Strangely I feel so confident and pretty in it, which feels odd given the style difference.
If I am honest, I hope ASOS release more dresses like this, as they have a surefire convert here!
What do you think to my change in style? Do you approve?
Till next Time,
Txx
