Several months ago I visited Up North – Uppermill exactly, to see Sue and Caroline in their Bra Spa.
Sue had designed a different kind of bra. One that the mass bra manufacturers didn’t like.
The Optibra was put on in a different way to normal bras. You fit the band under the breasts, spill the breast tissue into the cups and then do up the back.
The bra is then meant to sit very low on your back; the centrifugal force and centre of gravity would put the breasts in a better position.
Well, I was very, very sceptical. But also was willing to try anything.
So, I travelled the +3 hours up to the North of England to go and see what it was all about.
You can read all about it here and here
However this is an update on the experience.
Whether you are a lover or a hater of this product, I can only speak for my own personal experience.
I can truly say that this product has been life changing for me.Whilst I don’t always get the bra on the proper way, even then it stops 95% of my pain.
When I put it on properly, bending over at the waist, fitting the breast tissue into the cups before doing the hooks up and pulling the straps onto my shoulders, it eradicates my back pain completely.
I literally am not saying this to blow smoke at you or to ‘big’ up a company. This bra has literally changed my life.
The lower back problems that I was experiencing 85% of my daily life have gone completely. Even standing for long periods of time has become a normal affair, whereas after 30 minutes to an hour of standing still I would normally be in agony, this has all gone.
On a recent visit to Stuttgart I stood for 3 solid hours on the pavement watching the Cannstatter Wasen Parade. I never could have done this before without a metal boned corset. It really is that good.
My long-standing shoulder problem (anterior scalene myofascia) means that some days I struggle to drive, can’t do up my own bra, am in constant pain if I try and chop up vegetables. As grim as it sounds, trying to wipe my own bottom is painful and humiliating.
Basically the scalene muscles have become extremely shortened, The muscle from neck to shoulder are like a steel cable Solid and un-moving.
I use both heat and cold treatments, pain killers, exercise and massage. Sometimes they work; most often they don’t.
However the optifit bra really does work for me.
Any day I have the bras on I am secure, uplifted and also confident that no-one outside of the Optifit World would get the difference this can make to someones life.
As I say, it has been around 2 years since we first communicated and now I need to go back and order some more bras as they are getting a little worn out.
The hooks are now starting to bend and are struggling under the pressure and strain. Th material has started to ‘give’. a little so the uplift isn’t as good as it was. However, these bras are over 8 months old. Whilst this may not seem like a great amount of time, my breasts weight 18lbs together. This is a huge weight and strain on tiny bits of metal.
One thing I can say though is that the cups and straps are as perfect as the day I first put them on.
I really can’t say anymore than that. I am converted totally.
Have you tried them?
Till next time
