Unless you are living under a rock you will know that today is Black Friday, the annual USA led event that send people mad for the sales.
Normally I get a few bits, dresses for myself and some Christmas presents. However I am off to Budapest in a week and I am super skint! Therefore I thought I would do a post looking at just what I would have brought for myself if money was no option.
Of course most of my clothes come from Pin Up Girl Clothing, Vixen and a new company to me; Ultimate Vintage. Offering 25% off all the range, this is a pretty good deal.
Originally I didn’t fit in Ultimate Vintage however they have recently upped their sizes to 5XL and I can now buy from them. So, my first few items have to be from them!
My absolute favourite (and if my fairy godmother wants to make my wish come true) is the Minerva Black Magic Swing Dress. Based on a Harry Potter theme, it has the house colours of Gryffindor (the other three houses are available too) and has the different wands all around the base. I saw this at Londonedge in September and absolutely fell in love with it.
My second favourite is a little out of my comfort zone however I just fell in love with the print and it would be perfect for Twinwood 2019. The Velvet Goldwyn Gown in Green is simply divine. The print is exquisite and I love the shape of the design. This is one that I am really lusting over and at only £93, it is not out of my price range (normally)
Moving on, Unique Vintage have done a collaboration with…Wait for it……
BARBIE!!!
And I love so much of it. I absolutely know that if I owned these, I WOULD wear them constantly. Obviously I don’t just want the clothing; I want the hats, bags and all the accessories.
First of all comes the Black Magic Sheath and Cape Set. So classic and refined, I would love this for New Years Eve. At £110 I think this is so very reasonable and a real statement piece.
Next up is the timeless Tweed Career Girl Suit. Given the job that I do, I have no need for office clothing, however this is just timeless and I would love to have it in the wardrobe for when I need a professional look. It never goes out of style so would be a great investment even at £160.
Also in the Barbie range is the My Barbie Collection Swing Skirt. The skirt has a selection of Barbie dolls around the bottom and comes in black or green for £74. There are several different tops and t-shirts to go with it however this one is £58. I especially like the Barbie bag that is shown here too, but couldn’t locate it on the site.
The last of my Barbie choices is the Red Matinee Fashion Sheath and Jacket. You can also buy the scarf and hat. Of course it goes without saying I would want the whole damn lot! The outfit is £170, the hat is £27 and the scarf £16
A couple of other items took my fancy and were in their normal section. This beautiful Plaid dress from Miss Candyfloss is so striking I would wear the hell out of it. Sadly there is no size comparison on the website so I am not too sure if it would fit me. Probably good for my bank account though as this is £120.
My last choice from this website is this gorgeous green 30’s style flapper day dress. It simply is like nothing else I own and I think this would be a great addition to my wardrobe. The colour combination is wonderful and I already have so many accessories that would go with it. Priced at £74 it is so very reasonable, I think I need to get myself a second job…….
Now normally I get a lot of my clothing from Pin Up Girl clothing (PUG) in America. They have always had amazing designs in beautiful fabrics and although they are a little pricey, with Black Friday it has always been a good time to buy.
However, earlier this year they announced that they wanted to be heading in a different direction creatively and had a massive clearout of all their stock and showed the new way they wanted to go.
Sadly, I am not a massive fan of a lot of the new lines. This makes me pretty sad, but my bank account happy. In fact, out of their offerings at the moment, I really am only interested in this one dress. The Elvira designed ‘Aziza Dress’.
With 35% off over the whole weekend, it makes it very affordable indeed.
However, moving onto a different brand, Vixen by Micheline Pitt is a whole different story. Micheline was a co-designer with Laura Byrnes over at PUG before some kind of issue occurred and she left.
However setting herself up as Vixen by Micheline Pitt and offering the kinds of clothes I wish I could still buy from PUG is a bonus. I love her designs and am lusting after a few things.
This dress is just beautiful. The green really works with my hair colour and I love the dropped shoulder, which would go perfectly with my corset on. It does come in a couple of other colours, I just love this one the most. It is a little more expensive at £139 but I know how great the fit and quality is.
This gingham Bardot dress ticks all the boxes for me. It makes me instantly think of the Georgia Peaches and S0uthern Belles. In short. I think it is super cute and I would love it for the Summer to come. Priced at £115 it is worth buying this weekend as there is 30% off.
The Frisky Fetish dress has long been one of my favourites due to the kinky print with whips, corsets, boots, blindfolds and more. Sadly this is now out of stock and at the bargain price of £59 I would have loved to have bought it. It is such fun, and although I have a dress from PUG with an almost identical pattern, it is a wiggle dress and this swing one would have been a perfect addition.
My final choice is a pre-order dress and I think the whole design is perfect. The Golden Era dress in Teal is just so elegant. I love the crossover neck and the draping at the waist. On pre-order for just £120, you can still buy this and get the extra 30% off too.
So those are my top choices. What do you think to them? What would you like to see me in?
Till next time,
SPSG xx
