About 18 months ago I was a different hair colour to now. And six months before that. And before that. I get bored quite easily!
I then went Apricot courtesy of the amazing Lucie Louella of I Love Lucie.
Eventually I ended up a peroxide blonde which I absolutely adored but messed my hair up totally.
I added flashes of colour but realised that I had to stop the bleaching.
It was then that I decided to go a shade of grey. I started off with a steel colour, but for whatever reason it came out a gorgeous silvery shade.
The colour was lovely and I was really happy with it. I kept it for quite awhile, but in a fit of stupidity and boredom I stuck a black dye on the top and that was the end of that.
I regretted it almost as soon as I did it, but there was not really a lot that I could do about it.
Fast forward to February of this year and I visited Q.L Salon for the first time to take part in their ‘No Mirror Challenge’. My hair was a dark-ish brown with a lot of grey hairs and I had lost my mo-jo somewhat.
By the end of the challenge I had gone from horrible brown to the most gorgeous coppery colour with a rainbow of colours at the back of my head. It was literally stunning.
Since then I have been going back to the same salon and paying to keep changing my hair up. I have gone from having a rainbow at the back to just a block of red.
I cut the side short and then…
…shaved an undercut on one side.
And I loved every single little thing.
Over the past few weeks though I have been looking back over the different colours I have had and I keep going back to grey. I kept looking at the photographs and wishing I really hadn’t got rid of that colour.
I knew that Lou at Q.L salon would be able to sort things out and I told her that I really wanted to go back to grey. She knew just what would need to be done.
So, I arrived early on a Saturday morning ready for my next transformation. I had a bag of croissants and pain au chocolate, big bottle of water and a fully charged phone.
Basically I didn’t know quite how long it was going to take.
Lou started off by putting a lot of bleach over my hair and letting it sit for a while we chatted and had a good old laugh.
After a while it was time to wash the bleach off and put the dye on.
Lou had got a stunning grey and decided to mix it up a little with a flash of aqua at the front. Well, why not!
Sitting comfortable I let her do her work and just soaked up the atmosphere. I was so excited to see the end results as I really had missed it.
An hour or so later I was all ready to be washed off and styled.
I was eager to see the end results and I wasn’t disappointed!
A wonderful Steel grey with a section of aqua really set it all off. Lou went on to style it straight, giving it an asymmetric bob style and it was amazing.
I couldn’t resist going straight out for lunch with Baby Bear, Little Chick and the baba boy over at a regular favourite of our, Rushden Lakes. The weather was gloriously sunny and the cocktails were fabulously cold,
The next day I was even able to show it off at Whittlebury Hall!
Now, those who follow me know that I have a low boredom threshold and my hair changes from month to month. However I genuinely think I am going to keep this for quite a while.
Simply put, I am going naturally grey, so why not just embrace it!
Till next time,
