Frequent readers will have seen several posts that I have down alongside Q.L Salon including No Mirror Challenges, Permanent eyeliner, Microbladed brows and Lip liner, as well as lots of different hair colours and styles.

This time I was back in the salon to help them out!

Lu wanted to do something different for an editorial project and needed someone who was happy to have their hair done in the way they wanted.

Well as it happened I was actually on annual leave from work for 3 weeks and so I could pretty much do anything I wanted as long as I was back to normal for the beginning of September.

Popping along to the salon, I again put myself in their hands and let them go for it.

Fluffy Cloud hair

Janine started off by bleaching my roots only, as my hair pretty much was a grey/ash blonde.

She then got several different bowls of colour and spent ages putting different colours on my head.

Candy Floss Pink

All of this was done whilst I was sat in front of a covered over mirror, as although it wasn’t a ‘No Mirror Challenge’ they thought it would be fun to keep it a secret.

Eventually all the dye was on and I could sit back and relax (or in this case, start writing this blog).

Fairy Tale Colours

I knew that once the hair was done, I would be having distinctive make-up and then Lu would be taking all the photographs she needed.

The premise of the look was going to be a fairy-tale fantasy, like Alice in Wonderland. I literally had no idea what I would be doing or how.

Whilst my hair ‘proved’ Lu waxed my eyebrows and then it was time to wash the dye off.

Ready for the next step

I still couldn’t see what was going on, or what colour my hair was. However I couldn’t wait to see what I looked like.

Janine started in on my make-up. I knew it was going to be quite dramatic and there seemed to be a lot of pigment going on, as well as glitter.

Eventually I was done.

Lu and Janine got ready to remove the cover from the mirror. Now, bearing in mind I had already done the No Mirror Challenge, you would think that I would be used to it.

Speechless!

Oh no.

The cover was removed and I was left speechless.

My hair looked like a carnival carousel; pink, orange, green, blue and more. It was nothing like what I had expected but I loved it.

Such a transformation!

The make-up was indeed very dramatic and although I loved it, it was not a ‘walking around town’ look!

Lu took me into one of the treatment rooms, lay me down on the bed proceeded to decorate me in dozens of flowers. My whole head was wreathed in them and she started taking photographs.

Alice Time

Lying back staring up at two bring ring lights, it was difficult to know if Lu was getting just what she wanted.

After about 10 minutes she declared she was done. She had the shots she wanted and was ecstatic.

Strike a Pose

Getting up and shucking off the flowers, she showed me the shots she had taken.

I was absolutely floored!

I had no idea of the concept she was going for, but loved the shots she had captured.

I was going for sultry – Did I hit it?

Lu was so happy she stated she was going to use some of them for some more advertising banners!

Wow. What an honour.

I couldn’t believe it was me…

The best thing though? I am off on my holibobs for a week, so I can relish in my fairyland hair and worry about what to do next, when I get back!
