In a couple of weeks I will be going to Lithuania for six days with my blog wifey, Boo. It is a Country I have never been to before and I am quite excited to see somewhere totally new.
One of the issues that I have at the moment however, is a dodgy right knee and ankle. If you read my posts regularly you will know I tore my ACL back in April and then did my ankle in at Twinwood. Even though the ankle has been over 3 weeks, it is still heavily bruised and swollen.
This means that I have to pack smart as I won’t be able to lug a heavy suitcase around like I normally do. As you are probably aware a lot of my dresses are rather full and heavy so it isn’t too long before the case is both full and at maximum weight.
Due to this I thought I would have a look at a few things that could be ideal for the holiday, whilst making the packing a lot more manageable. I also need it to be cheap and cheerful so am looking at the budget websites such as Shein, Everything5pounds and Rosegal.
I also need to think about comfortable shoes, accessories and jewellery. Of course, most of these will be wishful thinking, but a girl can have dreams, right?
First on my list was Shein. I already have a dress by them and it is a joy to wear and has had many compliments. I popped online and had a look and found a huge amount of plus size clothing that I really liked.
This little play suit is perfect. Summery, a lovely pattern and it wouldn’t take up too much room in a case. And at the bargain price of £10.99 it is a surefire winner.
Although not too Summery, I really love the fullness of this skirt and I have loads of tops that would go with it too. I think it looks really comfortable to wear and very versatile too. Again a pretty good price at £13.99 so is reasonably priced yet and will go with so many things and can be worn in the winter with some boots too.
I was really drawn to this maxi dress which is unusual as I don’t really like animal print very much. But this was a bit different to normal and I think it could be a lightweight dress which won’t crease too easily. At just over £20 it’s a good purchase.
I really love this green dress as it has a very vintage vibe without all the heavy material. I don’t have a huge amount of green in my wardrobe and at £14.99 it is a total bargain.
I have a stunning pair of 40’s style wide legged trousers and not a lot of tops. This would be a wonderful combination and is very feminine yet I imagine it would be quite cool so perfect for travelling. This top is just £7.99 and one I definitely need.
Again another perfect top to go with my navy 40’s trousers is this pretty little yellow number. I love the pussycat bow and embroidery details and it still matches my vintage look. Again Shein has hit a great price point with this at £8.99.
I absolutely love this little playsuit which is great for a holiday. I am not too sure if I would have the confidence to wear this at home as it is very short but when I am on holiday I take even more risks with my style than normal. This little beauty is only £14.99 so worth a go.
The black stripy dress really caught my eye mainly for the extra details such as the striped pleat and the contrasting buttons. I love the wide collar I don’t have anything like this in my wardrobe. This is from Rosegal so the prices are in dollars, but at $20.99 it is a total steal.
This one is another Shein special, and it comes in black or yellow. I love the sunny yellow colour and this one is just £15.99. My only major issue with off the shoulder designs is that you will always see my bra straps. That is a fact of life though and I don’t let it bother me.
This polka dot blouse is from Everything5pounds and costs the princely sum of, you’ve guessed it, £5! Again it will go great with my 40’s trousers and you really can’t grumble at that!
Another £5 bargain is this lovely embroidered top which will go with the trousers and also some capri trousers I own. I love the details on the front and this could get a lot of wear.
These jelly shoes just really caught my eye. I love the geometric design, would be a cheap comfortable wear and again Everything5pounds have really hit it out of the park. I love the fact that the shoes are partly translucent and I think they would be really good for walking around the city.
This second pair is again just £5 and would go with my trousers perfectly. I have a lot of ballet flats in different colours, however they have no bounce or soft lining so after a little while walking they start to hurt. As I am already struggling I think I need all the help I can get!
This pair of shoes are a bit more expensive BUT they are from Fitflop. Having had several pairs of their shoes I know them to be the most comfortable, padded, soft and hard wearing shoes I have ever owned. I have one pair that have lasted me over 5 years but the padding inside has deteriorated a little after excessive wear. These are in the summer sale reduced from £75 to £37.50 – a total bargain!
I have a LOT of jewellery, especially vintage beads, pearls and lucite bangles. This is all fair and well when at home and weight/space in no option, however when travelling it just can be too much.
I came across this lovely jewellery company called Onecklace who offer a lot of personalised jewellery and really loved this monogram necklace. It would go with all the clothing I have previously mentioned and is timeless and classy. I would have PSG for the initials and in sterling silver it is just $39.95
Matching up with the necklace would be a great way to accessorise and this double name bracelet is just so pretty. Secret Goddess would be the wording choice for me and is another perfect piece that doesn’t take up much room and goes with absolutely everything. The bracelet is priced at $55.95 and for such artistry I think worth every cent.
My last wishlist item is this cool anti-theft backpack. I usually have a variety of handbags but again, using a walking stick means I need to have something I can put on my back leaving my hands free. This anti-theft bag is designed in a way that makes it very difficult for would be purse snatchers to get into the bag. It also has a inbuilt powerbank so you can charge your phone/tablet up outside of the bag. I found this one on eBay for £11.99.
Adding up all my wishes, it comes to the grand total of £178.42 and $116.89 for the items from the USA. For the amount of clothing, shoes, sterling silver jewellery and a backpack, I think that is pretty damn good.
I just need to get a second job to buy it all!
Till next time
