If you read my exploits regularly you will know of a lot of changes that I have made to my hair with the fabulous Lu and Janine from Q.L Salon.
I have been peach, copper, rainbow, grey, multi-coloured carousel colours and more.
Lu has performed miracles with every transformation and I have to say that the Carousel was probably one of my favourite looks however had to be done whilst I was on annual leave as I am not allowed such unusual colours due to my job.
After my annual leave Lu had dyed over the carousel with brown to blend it in and it had looked lovely. However, this had now started to wash out and the colours were showing through. I had streaks of blue and green and the back had a definite shade of pink to it.
I wasn’t too sure what I wanted to do next; Lu suggested autumnal colours and I was seriously tempted. Then I had a bit of a throwback to a few years ago when I had been mainly black with a touch of red. I had really liked it and considered whether I should go back to it.
Arriving at the salon on their late opening, Lu asked if I had any thoughts as to what I wanted to do. I threw out the idea of the red and black and she literally seized it with both hands. She was already mixing colours up before I could even sit down in the chair.
Black and red it was then!
Sitting in the salon we had a good old natter and a giggle. The Dye went on and I was excited to see the results.
Before too long I was under the tap being rinsed off and then it was back in the chair for the styling part. As I had been leaving my hair curly for most part Lu suggested straightening it to see how it would look with the two colours.
Well I have to admit it was pretty stunning. And I was over the moon!
The two colours looked glorious and I was blown away by the depth of colour.
I also loved the smooth straight look, something I had got out of the habit of doing, mainly as I was trying where at all possible to not use any heat on my hair to try and repair some of the damage.
Given that I am middle aged, peri-menopausal and with hair that is thinning and coming out in handfuls I have been trying to take a bit more care with it and not make the situation any worse. Lu went on to say that my hair was in exceptional condition; really silky, thicker and better than ever.
Well, that was something good to hear and made my day!
Anyway, after three hours I walked out of the salon with a big smile on my face and a stunning new hairdo!
So, what do you think? A great new look or not your taste?
Till next time
