I have said it once, and I will say it again… These are Strange times!
Due to COVID, normal life is not as we know it. Families are fragmented and regular life/events/fun is off the cards. That doesn’t mean that life has to stop.
With the technology now available at hand, families and friends can still get together, even though it is only through the virtual world.
Last weekend we took part in two group quizzes; Saturday night with our Sister, Brother in Law and Niece down South.
And before everyone starts to get offended with the lack of social distancing, it was via the Zoom App.
The quiz was written by my Brother in Law and I paired up with Baby Bear as a team. Little Chick went with Grandma and Dad and off we set.
We spent a very pleasurable couple of hours quizzing, socialising and having a lovely old family time.
Oh and Baby and I won! Only by one point, but it was good enough for me.
Sunday night was a little more involved.
The Agnes Fan Club, a large group of friends going back more than 40 years old got together for guess what?
Another Quiz!
This time we had a 9 group Zoom call with one quizmaster and 8 family teams.
The master, a fabulous man called Sat had written the quiz and had done a very flash powerpoint with pictures, songs and more. It was pretty impressive.
During the quiz, he muted all the groups so that we could chat without divulging the answers and then when it came time to get the answers, each group called it out.
It worked perfectly well and we held our own, coming second by two points.
Pretty damn good as far as I am concerned!
This weekend I am writing the family quiz. I have chosen seven rounds, including Cocktails, Chocolate, Disney and Children’s Literature.
Whilst you may look at those and think ‘What the hell kind of quiz is that?’Â the questions are harder than you think and I am trying to lull them into a false sense of security!
Also, my niece asked me to make it easier for her, and as she is my favourite (only) niece, I have to be the doting Auntie and give her a hand!
Anyway, I need to go and put the last finishing touches to my quiz and get ready as master of ceremonies!
The question is…… Who will win?
Till next time,
