If you have seen many of my photographs, you will know that I have a wide collection of hair flower accessories.
In the vintage world they are quite an integral part of the ‘look’. Worn at the side of Victory Rolls, at the back of Heidi Rolls or to accentuate a large brimmed hat, most people either match them to their outfit or have them clash with a striking colour.
I have a whole drawer of flowers; some of my favourites are from Shazam, Pin Up Curl, and Ruby Boo Makes. They are so precise, unusual and go with so many of my outfits.
It was no surprise then that I immediately loved a new range that Ruby Boo had on her page which was V.E Day themed.
Gorgeous red, white and blue posies featuring classic English flowers; Poppies, Hydrangea, Anemones and Carnations.

Apart from the fact that they were stunning in design, Ruby Boo was also donating half of all profits made to the Royal British Legion.
Well, if the stunning designs weren’t enough reason to buy them, this was a perfect reason to do so.
Now, if you are like me, you like things to match.
I have several sets in my collection; matching hair flower and corsages. Sometimes I wear them as a pair and other times as singles.
Either way, you get extra versatility from this.
So when I saw the range that Ruby Boo had on offer, well it was really hard to say no!
Chatting with her, I asked if she had a matching hair flower to go with an anemone corsage piece that I liked.
Red, White and Blue
At that point she didn’t but said she had some flowers remaining that she could make into a hair accessory.
Well, now we were talking!
A couple of days later a box arrived with my beauties inside. I had the perfect dress to wear with them (surprise surprise) and as the 8th May 2020 was V.E Day, what better an opportunity than to wear them to our little family celebration.
I love Packages
Yes, even in a COVID lockdown, we were going to have a VE Day Party in the garden; sandwiches, cake, pork pie, you know that kind of thing.
No doubt there will be a post coming soon about the party, but for now here are the stunning lovelies created by RubyBooMakes.

The best part is that the corsage has both hair clips AND brooch pins, so it can be utilised as a hair flower as well as a corsage.
Versatile!
I decided that with the onset of VE Day that I would use my new flowers alongside Victory Rolls and a red crochet snood. It was very effective and also looked fabulous!
VE Day Practice
The lovely creator of RubyBooMakes, Sharon sadly told me that her Dad had passed away a little while ago. Her next creations will be based on the beautiful garden that her Dad loved to spend time in cultivating.
This limited collection will consist of around 10 pieces and I will be looking forward to the unveiling of them later on this month.
