- Before COVID-19 I was lucky enough to enter ‘The Face of Le Keux 2020’
For those of you that aren’t familiar with the name, Le Keux is a fantastic brand that cover several Vintage hair salons and a range of vintage make-up.
I entered the competition to try and represent the older woman who is into the vintage lifestyle and show that no matter what age, shape, waist size or job, you can love the style and show it off.
The winner was going to spend the year representing the brands, getting involved in photoshoots and events as well as winning a selection of their amazing make-up.
What a great prize!
Well, you can imagine my surprise when I actually went and won the competition. I was both gobsmacked and absolutely thrilled.
Then the COVID-19 crisis hit us and we went into Lockdown.
The photoshoots and events all had to be put on hold and I am chomping at the bit to take part in working with them.
Now I am sure many of you have seen the ‘Brush’ challenge; ladies who are au naturel who wave a make-up item in front of the camera and when they remove it, have been transformed,
Well, Anna Vine who owns the Essex Salon got together with the wonderful Lynsey Le Keux and her band of ‘Keuxties’ to make a version of the video using Le Keux cosmetics and brushes.
Of course I was keen and eager to get involved and happily put my name down. I read the details of what I needed to do and knew that I would have to wait until the weekend to take my part of the video.
Saturday rolled around and I sat in my bedroom, hair a fuzzy mess with no make-up on. I hoped that by the end of the session I would look totally different!
I took my favourite moisturiser, Le Keux Everything Cream and slapped it on.
Then I pushed the cream lid towards the camera blocking out my image.
I then started off using my Babylis Curl Secret to give my hair the very much needed style. Foundation, blusher, contouring, highlighting done, I then added the signature vintage black eyeliner flicks, mascara and red lipstick.
Putting on the stunning Vixen by Micheline Pitt Xhora gown in Chartreuse, I genuinely felt that I had made a total transformation.
Excitedly I went back onto the post from Anna with the intention of uploading the video to her.
That is then when I realised I had made a MASSIVE mistake!
Anna had written in her Facebook post that the video HAD to be shot in landscape mode and be around 1 minute long.
Stupidly I had shot it all in portrait mode and it was 1 minute 11 seconds when edited properly.
D’oh!
Sadly this means that it cannot be used for the group video but I thought it was still worth a share here.
So, what do you think? Did I transform myself?
Till next time
