Several months ago I wrote a post on a couple of dresses I had bought from Lady V London/Lady Voluptuous. At the time they had a massive sale on AND an extra discount code so I popped online to see what they had available.
My plan was to get a dress or two, depending on how good the sale was. What I didn’t expect was the fact that I could get 5 dresses for the price of ONE full price dress.
Well it would be silly not to take advantage!
I have already shown you a couple of the dresses, such as the Popcorn dress and the Fairground dress. If you missed the reviews, you can catch them here and here.
Well, the other two that I got were 1940’s fishtail style dresses that I had never seen on the site before, but were perfect for my style. They looked like an easy wear and would be versatile in a lot of situations.
The dresses came in Tardis Blue and Royal Purple and were an absolute steal at around £13 each.
Bargain, right?
Well the dresses arrived and fitted like a dream. I couldn’t wait to wear them. Then we went into lockdown…..
Aaargh!
Anyway, several weeks later I was fed up of waiting. The sun was out, the sky was blue and it was the perfect time to take pictures in the garden. On went the dresses and hubby snapped hundreds of photographs for me.
So, what is there to say about these two dresses? Quite a lot actually!
The material is a stretch Bengaline style and it is quite a heavy fabric. The fishtail bottom is only a small shaped section so it is not too overwhelming. The design is great as the tailoring and gathers under the bust area make the fit look really good.
The little cap sleeve hide my bingo wings quite well and the sweetheart neckline is so flattering.
With the blue dress, I paired it up with red and white accessories including an original vintage bag and lovely VE Day hair flower and corsage from Ruby Boo Makes.
The purple dress needed some darker accessories; Black shoes and bag and a purple hair flower.
Both versions really worked for me.
This week is Mental Health Awareness week; our office has been allowed to wear Mufti clothing, so on Tuesday I chose to wear the blue outfit with all the accessories.
I got so many compliments from staff members, I was really chuffed!
I still haven’t worn the purple one yet, but give it time!
Till next time,
