About 3 months ago I started writing a blog about some 1930s style beach pyjamas. I had purchased some from Ambrose Wilson to take on holiday to Greece. They arrived only a day or so before my trip and I shoved them in the suitcase without trying them on.
Once I got round to it, the trousers were a little snug (camel toe!) and it was too late to send them back.
Since then I have been looking for something that fits the bill. And I finally found them on Shein!
I have to admit that they weren’t necessarily advertised as a suit/pair. And whilst most beach pyjamas are specifically kimono tops, these were being sold as sleepwear Kimonos.
To be frank, I really didn’t care. I liked them so thought I would give them a try!
I put my order in, got a shedload of discounts knocked off and settled down to wait a couple of weeks for them to arrive.
My order consisted of 2 dresses, an overdress, 2 kimonos and a pair of trousers!
The dresses and overdress I will be reviewing on a separate post and I am just concentrating on the pyjamas on this one.
My first Kimono was one that reminded me of a pair of trousers I already have; large leafy fern patterned and ankle length.
Whilst the Tropical Print Belted Robe would probably clash with those trousers, for the purpose of beachwear/summers day clothing, it was perfect!
I already have a pair of dark blue high waisted, wide leg trousers (the same as these rust ones) that I bought last year from Unique Vintage go perfectly with this. I then have the choice of pairing it with a white, green, blue or a pale pink camisole top.
I have the sun hat already and even the bag.
Most people wouldn’t even consider wearing something like this out in public. I mean, it is quite a look.
Me?
Well, I only wear what makes me happy nowadays; I literally don’t care what people think to my clothing.
Which is precisely why I went for my next two choices; pleated panel wide leg trousers in yellow and the stunning all over print kimono.
The pattern on the kimono is just sublime. It reminds me very much of 1930s patterns and colours and I have the perfect hair flower to go with it.
Again, I could choose a whole array of camisole colours to match with it and I have some little yellow suede ballerina shoes to finish the look off.
My perfect Pyjama haul cost the grand total of £44.57 and I can wear the trousers on their own and if I get fed up of them as a summer staple, I can use them as they were intended, in the bedroom over my proper jammies!
Double Bubble.
Of course there was the usual discount vouchers and free postage, so my package cost just over £33!
Oh and also there was the ability to pay by Afterpay, in three easy installments – £11 each month. Perfect Pyjamas indeed.
So, what do you think to my beach pyjamas? Would you wear something like this? I just need to wait for it to arrive and give them a whirl!
Till next time,
