If you remember I did a review of Snag tights several months ago. I had tried out some tights and chub rub shorts and absolutely loved everything about them.

Well, I have had a few other bits from Snag and simply couldn’t fault them and have recommended them to family and friends as they are simply the best hosiery I have come across for plus size bodies.
Now they were releasing a new line and had some stunning new media photographs to promote the items. The models were exquisite and diverse, as always, with Snag.
The new lines they had introduced had a very retro feeling; Mock Garter tights.
Now I remember my mother having something very similar to these in the late 70s/early 80s. The benefit of stockings without a suspender belt.
For some reason they seemed to go out of fashion and I can honestly say I haven’t seen them for sale up until now.
In my opinion, they are an absolutely perfect idea for the plus size figure; comfortable suspender belts can be hard to find in larger sizes.
Also any tights wearing person, will tell you, small or large, tights can get hot and sweaty around the crotch area!
Remove the crotch and the problem is eradicated.
So this was something that I was really excited to try out. My last remaining suspender belt is barely able to meet at the two ends and I have found it hard to find a long line one that goes up into my size AND then you have the issue of stocking tops that dig in and roll down.
A pain all round, as far as I am concerned.
I eagerly went onto the Snag website to see just what the tights looked like and potentially to place an order.
Now Snag are very well known for a couple of things. Firstly the ‘perfect fit’ system and secondly the amazing array of colours that the hosiery comes in (and the fab names given to them)
Talking of the first point, Snag realised that so many people struggled to get tights to fit. They were pretty much ‘one size’ or s/m and m/l.
Whilst things have got better, things were still a struggle for plus size customers. If you got the size that would actually fit your tummy or bum, then the legs would fit a giraffe. If you got the legs right, then you could barely get the waist over your knees.
This is where Snag hit the spot in that they started to manufacture tights based on both height, dress size AND whether you needed a Athletic fit (small or flat bum and/or tum) or Curvilicious (prominent bum and/or tum)
Snag tights fit up to a 6ft5 frame and a size 36 dress. Pretty inclusive!
I had worked out that I need Short F on my previous orders and they had fitted perfectly. Now it was time to have a look and see just what was on offer.
There were three new items that Snag were releasing; two mock garters and one pair of Pina Colada fishnet tights.

As mentioned above, Snag have fabulous colours and names. Pina Colada is no different; a yellow pair of Fishies.

Smaller close knit fishnets are Fishies and a bigger wider knit are called Sharkies! Cool names and certainly points to a difference in style and design.

and even Colonel Mustard. It makes them very cute and fun and suits the colours down to a tee.

Anyway, going back to my purchases, I wanted to get some more chub rub shorts. These are a total godsend when it comes to wearing dresses and doing a lot of walking. I can walk for hours and not have a single issue with chafed thighs.
One of the best parts about them is that they are light and easy to wear AND they don’t get you all sweaty. Absolutely perfect for all weathers.
Again I stuck to the neutral Builders Tea as I want them to be wearable under all my vintage dresses. As exciting as the coloured ones are, I worry that they will show through some of my prints.

My next purchase was a pair of sheers; 30 denier Caramel tights. I love the idea of having bare legs without actually being bare legged. As I wear a skirt most days at work and want something light yet easy to wear.

Caramel really hit the spot. Perfect colour and thickness, they were comfortable to wear for a full shift in the office without runs or snags.
Finally I went to check out the Mock Garter tights. These were available in black or red and I loved them both.

Whilst the fire engine red pair were pretty sexy, I just couldn’t see myself wearing them.
The black though, well there was another story!
I adored the whole design but what I really loved was the fact that you can show off a matching lingerie set as the cutout sections accentuate the rest of your underwear without hiding them under a layer of nylon tights material.

All I need to do now is find a couple of my matching sets to showcase with them.
All told my purchases came to £25.97, however Snag run an offer where if you purchase 3 items you get a discount of 10%, 5 items gets 15% or 10 items gets you a whopping 25% off.
In this case, I got my 10% which reduced my purchases to £23.27.

Within 3 days my purchases had arrived, all beautifully wrapped in spotty paper bags and ready to wear.
Neat AND recyclable
Whilst the tights and chub rub shorts got worn immediately, the mock garter tights have only been tried on. I plan on putting them together with one of my vintage gowns for a proper event.
