Many of you will recall a recent post I did for the Shein 11/11 big sale where I had a whale of a time with capes and coats. If you missed it, you can see it all here.
Now I was taking things inside as they had sent me a selection of nightwear that I wanted to review and share my thoughts on.
So, how did I get on?
One of the issues that I have come up against with nightwear is that usually the ones I like the look of are very rarely in my size (approx size 26). The ones that are the right size usually are frumpy and old-fashioned.
So, looking at Shein, I was really pleased to find quite a lot of choice in the nightwear section, including satin robes and chemise, velvet gowns and loose trouser sets.
The best thing about Shein as I have mentioned before is that every single item on their site gives you the exact measurements. This means that even when something is labelled 4XL, I am able to check to be completely sure that it will fit my body.
This is really important when it comes to items that you want to wear in the bedroom. There is nothing worse than uncomfortable clothing when you are trying to sleep.
I was thoroughly pleased with my choices, starting off with my first.
A satin Oriental style kimono with a matching chemise in a Crane print.
Featuring three-quarter length sleeves, the chemise reaches to my knees and the robe is a couple of inches longer. Obviously I am not the tallest of people, however I think this is a really versatile length as on a longer body it wouldn’t get much higher than a couple of inches above the knee.
The soft satin is really beautiful and I loved the delicate flower and bird print. The pink is delicate and the print is pale grey, white and pale blue.
It is a real delight to wear and made me feel very feminine. Given the price point for both pieces is just £18.49, it is fantastic quality.
The set comes in 4 colours; pink, black, navy blue and light grey. I have to admit I am pretty tempted to order another one in a different colour, it is that good!
My second choice was slightly different, a rib knit cami top and trousers in violet purple.
I have to admit I was a little unsure as to whether this item would fit my hips comfortably. Even though I had checked the size guide, I was not sure if there would be enough ‘play’ in the material to be a good item to wear in bed.
Before you think I am being saucy, I am a very restless sleeper and spend hours tossing and turning over in bed. Clothing needs to be comfortable to wear and not restrictive in any way.
This is why I liked this set so much; it is very stretchy and quite loose. It is literally the most comfortable loungewear.
The set comes in three colours, the violet purple, dark grey and dark green. Whilst I like the other two choices, I wanted the violet purple as it was just a little more my colour palette of choice.
My final choice was another robe and chemise set, this time in dark green velvet with gold satin trim.
The robe is just past my knees as is the chemise. The set feels luxurious; very soft, comfortable, and quite elegant.
I love the combination of green and gold. It really does give it a classy feel.
It does have a slightly higher price point at £28.49 however the quality is exceptional and the pricing is really justified.
I think the best thing about this set is that it is classy enough to wear lounging around in the house in the evening, but also pretty enough to wear ‘in the bedroom’.
All three sets were absolutely fantastic and really good value for money. I have worn them and washed them all and they have come out like brand new.
I know they will get even more wear over the coming months and as there is 15% off with my special code of SgpBE I can highly recommend these to you all.
In fact, I am pretty sure I will be purchasing some more of them pretty soon!
Till next time,
