Over the last three weeks I have been showing a few of the items that I was lucky enough to receive at Christmas. Sadly there was one item that had been ordered a couple of weeks before the big day that just never arrived.
Of course, I didn’t know about it until Christmas Day when Little Chick told me she had ordered a present that had never arrived. She had looked into it and registered it as ‘missing’ but she wouldn’t be able to make a lost report until the 29th December.
It looked as if this item was gone for good.
Little Chick asked if I wanted to know what it was. Well as I am terrible with surprises, I had to know even if it was disappointing.
And boy, when she told me what it was I was REALLY disappointed.
I had mentioned in my gift lists, a beautiful hair flower from the wonderful Shazam. A stunning Dark red/Burgundy Hellebore hair cascade with Swarovski crystal accents.
Nooooooooo!
Why my extreme reaction? Well, I knew there was only one of these hair flowers available.
Absolutely gutted.
Fast forward to two weeks after Christmas and I came home to a tissue wrapped gift with my name on it, in the living room.
Was it the hair flower of my dreams?
You can bet it was and it was well worth the wait.
A deep, dark, vampish red with sparkling crystals, the cascade is four hellebore flowers long. Each flower has a central stamen in gold which in turn has a larger Swarovski crystal inside.
The petals of the flowers are dark red with one petal on each having all the veins traced in gold glittery paint. Some of the petals have dark red glitter on the edges and they are all dotted with crystals.
The whole cascade is on wire which can be bent in different ways. I tend to just lightly bend it to the shape of my head or follow the line of my hairstyle.
So far I haven’t been able to wear the hair flower out as we are still in lockdown, however it didn’t stop me from putting on a full face of makeup and taking some photographs.
I had curled and styled my hair into a vintage style and two days later it was still looking pretty good. Adding the Hellebore just finished off the whole look.
The icing on the cake, if you will.
The fact that my lipstick matched the hair flower perfectly, was an absolute bonus.
To say I love this piece is an understatement. It is absolutely glorious and really sets off a hairstyle beautifully. I even have a couple of outfits that it perfectly matches.
We just need this damn virus to get beaten and life to go back a little to normal.
Till next time,
