Over the past few years I have been lucky enough to purchase a few things from ‘Peacock Pretties‘.
Emma has made me hair accessories with deer, nutcrackers, candy canes and even carousel horses and I have loved every single one (and worn them with pride).
So when she put out an Instagram post asking for people interested in a collaboration, I was quick to put my name forward!
In her messages she asked if there was any particular colour or size that I would prefer. I laughingly told her that I have worn the smallest to the largest accessory and hats on my head and would happily work with anything she wanted to send.
As for colour, there was nothing I wouldn’t try out.
I received a message a couple of days later with a picture of what she wanted to send.
Well, I was absolutely overwhelmed by it.
A huge magenta and green flowered headband with a detachable birdcage veil.
It was completely stunning!
Of course I had to try it on straight away even though I was in my pyjamas, which strangely were a burgundy colour that complemented the hair accessory completely.
Popping one of my wonderful wigs on (my hair was a straggly mess) I placed the accessory on my head and immediately fell in love with it.
The Headband on which the flowers have been placed is a thick padded magenta band, which has a metal comb on the inside for extra security.
There is a collection of green and magenta flowers which are light, yet large and full. They are set on a slight angle on the headband for a much better effect and placement.
A magenta birdcage veil is included which has its one flexi-comb attachment so you affix it to your hair however you feel like before putting the headband on.
The only issue I had was what to wear to showcase the item.
I started looking through my considerable wardrobe to see what could work with it.
Did I go with a plain black dress so that the headpiece would be the focus, or wear something colourful to compliment it.
One of my options was the Xhora Chartreuse hooded gown from Unique Vintage.
Getting it out of the wardrobe and putting it together, I thought that it was a perfect non matching match!
Did I get it right?
Till next time
