Jumpsuits. Love them or hate them, they certainly give a lot of versatility to a wardrobe.
Now I usually have a couple of issues with them; the length firstly as I am a shortie and the fact that you have to get down to your bra whenever needing the ladies room!
However it doesn’t stop me from loving them and I have a specific favourite which has served me well at vintage events; a brown wide legged number that one of my daughters bought me for Christmas a few years back.
So, when I received an Email from the lovely Jessy at Shein asking if I would like to choose some more clothing to review, I popped onto the site and had a look at the new lines in my size range.
It was then that I came upon this lovely jumpsuit which just ticked all my boxes.
Wide legs, gorgeous floral pattern and a shirred elastic top half in a Bardot style.
Well, I didn’t even deliberate. I checked the size guide and was pleased to find that the biggest size they offered in this item, a size 24 would be a perfect fit.
Jessy had kindly offered the choice of 4 items for review, so I added a white shirt dress, a black & red maxi dress and a red sundress to my list and emailed my choices.
Around 10 days later a package arrived with the four items that I had asked for and I had a lot of fun in the garden trying them out and posing.
Obviously this post is just about the jumpsuit, but I will be reviewing the other three items in separate blogs as they are all too good to combine in one.
So, how was the jumpsuit?
Well, firstly I was absolutely gobsmacked by the jumpsuit. The print was fantastic and the material soft, smooth and a real delight to wear. The elasticated shirred section gave a lot of stretch and wasn’t restrictive in any way.
The best thing was the leg length!
It fitted absolutely perfectly. No need to take up the length, the legs just brushed against the top of my shoes which is unheard of.
On a longer legged/taller person, I guess I the trousers may well be a more cropped effect which I think would also work well.
All in all, the jumpsuit was a brilliant choice and I cannot wait to wear it out when the lockdown/Pandemic eases off.
Until then, I pranced about in the garden, adding a pink hair flower, a stunning grey/black wig and some black t-strap shoes.
I also think that this could be completely dressed up with a statement necklace and a pair of heels. I actually think that it could be a wonderful outfit for a spring/summer wedding.
Equally I think it would be perfect for a simple summer picnic. I can just imagine a blanket, old fashioned picnic basket filled with old fashioned goodies; egg sandwiches, pork pie, fruit cake and a thermos of tea.
Oh and a fluffy boy snoozing in the breeze.
Roll on Summer!
Till next time,
