The third in my series of dresses from Shein was the Peter Pan Collar Lace Trim Dress . It had a very vintage feel to it and I thought it could be a real asset to my wardrobe.
When the dress arrived I was astounded by the quality of the material used. The site calls it Mint Green and (I see it as more of a Sage green) is a lovely deep colour and quite a thick polyester. It does have 5% spandex so there is a little stretch to the dress too.
The garment features lovely full Bishop sleeves, a fake button front with 3 little pearl coloured buttons and the real accent, the Peter Pan collar.
With a beautiful crocheted style lace trim, the collar is made up of two exaggerated curves that frame the dress beautifully. Whilst I couldn’t particularly put a specific vintage era to it, I just loved it.
Priced at just £18.49, the dress is an absolute bargain and comes in three different colours. Whilst the Mint/Sage was my absolute favourite, the Dusty Blue was a close runner with the Burgundy coming in third.
So, how did it fit and look?
This has to be one of my favourite fits of all my Shein dresses. It has a simple top, which although there are some darts, is loose and allows for a lot of comfort.
The skirt is full and a-line in style which allows for a bigger hip and flatteringly skims down the body. The length is pretty good and I didn’t feel swamped in it.
Being only 5 foot tall, quite often I am drowned in material, however this ended a couple of inches above my ankles, which is my length of choice as I have a lot of marks and scars on my legs.
As this look spoke to me of yesteryear, I decided to add an original 1930’s floral straw hat over a beautiful auburn wig and a 1950’s straw basket. I pinned a green 1950’s brooch onto the lapel and added one final accessory.
A Cinnamon coloured Chow-Chow.
Yes you guessed it. Theodorable photobombed a fair amount of photographs.
Thankfully, I was able to get quite a few shots that I was really pleased with, including some shots from the back where I am a little more self-conscious.
So, my verdict overall?
This is a complete winner, a gorgeous colour, great quality and a bargain price.
In fact, I may even get the blue one too…
Till next time
