As you know, I am Keuxtie of the Year 2021 for the amazing Le Keux Vintage Salon. This was actually awarded to me in 2020 but due to Corona Virus, we were unable to do any work together at all and the lovely Lynsey carried it over to 2021.
This means we can get to do some fabulous photoshoots and other work together before my year is up.
Part of the prize for winning was the full range of Le Keux make-up which I was already quite a big fan of.
However, Lynsey explained that she was redesigning the packaging and containers and would sort out the prize once these had been created.
She went on to say that she had spent over a year redesigning the packaging and containers and was about to release the first, ‘Whistle Bait’ to all the Le Keux Pin-Up Parcel subscribers.
Last Friday I had a lovely message from the Ladies at Le Keux asking for my full postal details as they wanted to send me some goodies in the post. You can imagine my delight when I had a package arrive on Saturday, literally less than 24 hours later.
Inside the funky turquoise packet was a lovely note from Le Keux and three gorgeous red velvet bags.
Opening the first bag there was a blue tissue wrapped box.
The second bag had a pink tissue wrapped box.
The third bag had a lilac tissue wrapped box.
If one was ‘Whistle Bait’, what where the other two?
Well of course, I couldn’t wait to open them up and see just what I had inside.
Firstly though, I will introduce you to the beautiful Whistle Bait.
The packaging is covered in a stunning design in a peachy cream colour with coral and pale blue atomic symbol patterns. The writing is very retro and has the tagline ‘Your Beauty is Our Duty’
Inside is a multi-faceted tube of liquid lipstick in a gorgeous scarlet red. The tube has a soft brush applicator and promises to stay ‘Forever On Your Lips’
I wanted to give it a go but had my rollers in. Would it really matter?
Hell no, the rollers just add to the style. I mean, I could rock the lipstick and the curlers, couldn’t I?
I have to say, the colour is absolutely stunning. I love a liquid lipstick, even more so if it is a matte colour. The biggest issue as many of us know is that red tends to bleed, transfer and get on everything.
This lipstick truly does live up to the promise of ‘Forever On Your Lips’
I had it on for several hours and did everything I normally would; wore a mask, drank, ate and talked. It stayed exactly where it should do.
If Whistle Bait was THAT good, what would I find in the other two wrapped packages?
Unwrapping the lilac package I found another gorgeous atomic patterned case, this time containing ‘Peachy Keen’.
Again another Matte Lip paint in the sweetest, nude-peach shade. The tube used is the same as used for Whistle Bait, a translucent multi-faceted container which catches the light and has the soft applicator inside.
The packaging is in the same style as before, this time the atomic print is in peach and brown shades.
Now, I don’t tend to be someone who wears nude lipsticks. I tend to find that they are too pale and wash me out, whereas bright colours are more my bag.
However this peachy nude shade was an absolute delight to put on and really did flatter my complexion. Just like Whistle Bait, it lasted for hours and did not smudge or move at all.
The final offering was in the blue wrapped package; a lovely peach and burgundy box featuring atomic symbology and ‘Cherry Bomb’.
A gorgeous deep burgundy red shade which looks very vamp like, in my opinion.
This one was a shade very much darker than what I am used to. I was a little unsure just how it would look but threw caution to the wind and gave it a go.
I have to say, this was probably my favourite of all three.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I loved the other two A LOT. But I found the deep richness of Cherry Bomb to be so delicious that I became an instant fan.
To be honest, all three shades are absolutely beautiful and I can see them being practical for lots of different events as they really bring glamour to the simplest of looks.
At the moment, Whistle Bait is only available in the Pin Up Parcel Subscription which can be found on the website.
The only other thing I have to ask myself….
If there are three ready to wear…… What about the other two shades already in the Le Keux Collection?
Diablo Rose and Coral Mermaid?
Lynsey… Any plans?
Till next time.
