Do you know about Boots ‘£10 Tuesdays’?
I didn’t know about them until last week and was really chuffed with what I saw and eventually purchased!
The basic gist is that Boots put up a large selection of products for the simple cost of £10. This can be on the shelf medication such as Buscopan, teethcare, make-up, toiletries and baby products.
As an example, there was a pack of 4 Oral-B replacement toothbrush heads. Instead of £17, it was…. yes, you’ve got it, £10.
And that was when I spotted the C.Y.O make-up bundles.
Now, in recent blogs I have mentioned my new found love for make-up, especially eye palettes. I am experimenting a lot more with colours yet still (at 46) don’t know what I am really doing.
This means I don’t want to spend lots of money on items I might just never like or use again. Therefore the C.Y.O bundles were brilliant.
If you don’t know the range, C.Y.O was created at the Boots HQ in Nottingham and calls itself a quality make-up brand at an economy price. It is also Vegan friendly as it is 100% cruelty free so suitable for pretty much everyone!
One of the best things about the brand is that it offers some of the brightest colours that I have ever seen (or used).
The sad thing is that Boots have made the decision to stop making C.Y.O which is why the prices have dropped and I guess why they are being offered in bundles.
Either way, the bundles are fantastic value for money and a brilliant chance to experiment without breaking the bank.
So, what exactly did I get?
My first bundle was the Bold and Bright Bundle – This consisted of Blusher, Eye shadow, Eye pigments, Lipsticks, Face Gems, Mascara and Eyeliner.
To be exact, the bundle contained the following –
3 Eyeshadows
2 Eye pigment tubes
2 Blushers
1 Eye crayon
1 Eyeliner marker pen
2 Coloured mascaras
3 Lipsticks
2 Lip Laquers
1 set of Face Jewels
The second set of make-up was the Hollywood Glamour collection. This had even more products in it, for exactly the same price.
Ten Pounds.
Included in this bundle was –
2 Eyeshadows
2 Eye pigment tubes
2 Blushers
1 Brow Gel
1 Eyeliner marker pen
1 Contour palette
1 Highlighter
1 Double highlighter
6 lipsticks.
That is an awful lot of make-up for not a lot of money!
So, given that it is a bargain brand, albeit created by Boots, what exactly did I think of it. Well, I have to admit, I was pretty impressed! There wasn’t very much I didn’t like, if I am honest.
The eye pigment tubes were fantastic; blendable and very easy to apply. I loved the green pearlescent colour and it was a perfect match with a new skirt I was wearing.
The Hollywood Glamour set had 6 lipsticks as I already mentioned. All of them were in the Red palette, mostly scarlet and ruby. These of course are my favourite shades and which I tend to stick to especially when going for a Vintage Look.
In the Brights bundle, there was an exceptionally pale pink lipstick, which probably was the only item that I wasn’t too keen on. Pale 60’s style lipsticks have never been my thing and don’t go very well with my face tone.
However, as many of you know, I do a lot of fancy dress/murder mystery games and I am sure it will come in handy, so I will pop it in the drawer and bear it in mind in the future.
As for the rest, I have filled my makeup bag to the brim and I can’t wait to wear them.
I also can’t wait till this Tuesday to see what else is on offer for a tenner!
Till next time,
