I am a Shoe Addict.

I have so many pairs that I have genuinely run out of space to store them all. The cupboards are full of boxes and storage tubs, and I have no space for any more boxes.

So, just why did I buy a whole load of new shoes from Lulu Hun?

Well, they were on sale, of course!

Let’s rewind a little bit and explain just why I did that and exactly what I bought.

Collectif had advertised a rather large Summer Sale with up to 50% off a huge amount of items. I was looking at the possibility of getting some Lulu Hun shoes as in the past, I have worn an assortment of ballerina shoes to match my different outfits.#

However my knee issue has caused complications and wearing completely flat shoes gives even more pain and discomfort. However I only have two pairs of ‘vintage style’ shoes and whilst beautiful, are specific colours (shades of green/navy and red) and so do not go with many of my outfits.

Popping onto the Collectif website I headed straight for the shoe section and filtered it by putting in my size (5) and eagerly looked at what was on offer.

Now I wanted to try and get a couple of pairs that could go with many outfits. It was a bit tricky as there was an awful lot of shoes on offer and I knew I couldn’t have everything.

Finally I narrowed it down to the Pink Connie Shoe, the black Giada shoe and the brown Lily shoe.

The Lily and Giada were originally priced at £49.00 and the Connie was £45.00.

All were at 50% off so this brought it down to £24.50 and £22.50 respectively.

I happily bought the shoes and was utterly thrilled with my purchases. They were perfect for me, as comfortable as a pair of slippers and they went with so many of my outfits.

For just over £70 I had managed to get some beautiful shoes, that actually helped my mobility issue and hit the vintage spot, dead centre.

So, was that the end of the story?

Of course it wasnt!

A week later Collectif sent out a 50% voucher code off of EVERYTHING. That meant any thing at 50% off would then be reduced by another 50%.

Well, it was a no-brainer, wasn’t it? I had to go back onto the website to see just what was still available. It also helped that I had a little surplus money available and what better way to use it up?

Goodies!

This was where some people would think I had lost my mind.

I went onto the site, and put all of the shoes that I liked into my basket. Then I started by whittling them down to those that were practical, that I could walk in, that went with more than one outfit and that I really wanted to wear.

In went Joanna, Jeanie, Ada, Tonya, Connie x2, Tonya (again) Giada, Simona, Lily and Giada x2 (again).

All of them were 75% off and so there was some method to my madness as to why I seemed to have duplicates.

The Tonya Shoe came in two colourways – Dark green, pink and white or Red, yellow and orange. I put a pair of each into the basket.

The Giada Shoe came in black and green.  I already had one pair of black Giada’s so I put another two pairs into the basket.

TWO PAIRS?

Well, they are a classic black vintage shoe and only cost £12.25 a pair. It would be stupid not to get a couple of pairs as they would last me a long time, for a small price.

I also threw in a green pair for good measure.

I already owned the Connie in Pink and White, so now I added the Navy and White into the collection (two pairs, of course)

Adding a bit of zing to the mixture was a stunning pair of Simona suede orange wedges. These would go perfect with my PUG Oranges skirt, my red and Orange Tiki dress and even my new Collectif Rainbow dress.

I also added a bright yellow pair, which again would match with several outfits including that rainbow dress! The Lily had little oval cut-outs and was the exact same as the brown snakeskin ones that I had previously bought.

In Action

There was a slightly different pair that caught my eye; The Joanna which was a lemony-chartreuse colour with lace up ankles. The front was very plain, but the laces really gave it a little something extra. I plan to put these with my Chartreuse Xhora gown as I think they will go perfectly.

Finally there were two pairs that would be used for photoshoots and certainly not for a day out walking around. This was due to the size of the heels being impractical for me, but perfect for posing in.

All told there were 12 pairs of shoes in my basket.

With a combined bill of just over £140, I managed to get shoes worth £560.

What an absolute steal!

Yes, it could be seen as excessive, however from a frugal point of view I have shoes of all colour combinations to go with my hundreds of dresses and it was a complete bargain.

My Favourite?

Well, I am extremely partial to the Lily shoes in Navy and have worn them on several occasions already. The pink ones have been out and about too, so it was a great idea to go with both colourways.

Out and About

The only thing I have left to do now is throw out all of those old ballet flats that cause me so much discomfort!
