Given that I have been posting all over the place, most of you will know about my sponsored swim for a local colleague who is unfortunately struggling with incurable bone cancer.
If you have somehow missed my post, you can catch up with it here
Well, my four weeks are now up and I am absolutely proud as punch to tell you that not only have I completed all 805 lengths of the pool, I have completely smashed my £250 target!
Not only did I earn more than the £250 I was hoping for, I actually beat it by over ONE THOUSAND POUNDS.
Adding up the justgiving, cash and facebook donations I have raised £1405. Which has completely blown me away, I have to be honest.
In fact, I simply cannot tell you just how amazed and astounded I am by the sheer generosity of people.
Over the past four weeks it has kept me going, especially when my knee has been a bit problematic and the pain has made me worry whether I really had bitten off more than I could chew.
But, after four weeks, over 200 lengths a week I was down to just 25 lengths left to do.
You cannot imagine how much joy every single one of those lengths gave me. I swam with the biggest smile on my face knowing that I was at the end of my challenge and had raised far more than I ever expected.
So, those last few lengths were done with gratitude and thanks to each and every one of you that donated, encouraged, messaged and cheered me on.
I won’t lie, it was really tough but a total breeze compared to the Battle that my colleague and so many others are fighting against Cancer.
Whilst I know the money I have raised won’t change the diagnosis, hopefully it will bring some joy to the family.
And I have YOU to thank for that.
So, thank you from bottom of my heart.
Oh and just in case you missed the sponsorship form or have a few pennies spare at the end of the month, the justgiving link is HERE
Until next time,
