Recently you might have seen my post about the delightful floral “Royal Ascot” dress that the wonderful people at Taking Shape sent for me to review.
If you missed it, you can check it out here – trust me, it really is a stunner.
The second dress they sent me was just as beautiful, but it a more muted way.
The Royal Ascot is bright, vibrant showstopper, whilst the Sequin Lace Formal Dress in Dusty Pink is classy, sparkly and very elegant indeed.
Featuring cap sleeves, a lovely V neck and a delicately shaped hemline, the dress is both full, yet shaped to the body.
The bodice skims across the upper body with the minimum of seams. There doesn’t seem to be any darts or waistline added in, it is just cut in such a way that it flows into a full A-line skirt.
Featuring black as the under material, the overlay is a gorgeous dusty pink which has undertones of silver. This is created from multiple lace leaves and are dotted with pale pink sequins which really catch the light.
Sadly, no matter what angle or light these photographs were taken in, they really do not show how much the dress shines and twinkles.
The dress I am wearing is a size 24 but there is a *lot* of give in it and I genuinely think I could have worn a smaller size (or two)
Again this dress does not have any zips or buttons. This makes life a whole lot easier and for those who have mobility issues or difficulty doing up fastenings, is a real blessing.
The dimensions of the dress (in inches) are 53/45.5/53.5 but I am confident in saying that this dress would and does fit much bigger.
Due to the lace and sequin bedazzled over-lay, the dress is quite heavy but not uncomfortably so. It gives the feel of true quality yet with a price that belies the high standard; just £99.00.
Paired with the right accessories, I could see this being the perfect Christmas Party dress, or even a Winter Wedding guest as it pairs the practical, comfortable wear with classy, elegance in its design.

I personally chose to wear this when visiting a vintage location recently. I felt that the design paired very well with the old-style elegance of the location and if I added a fur, a hat and gloves and I would have looked right in place waiting for my beloved to come back from the front line.
As it was, the sun was shining on a crisp Autumn day and after an hour or so of posing, I headed into The Railwaymans Arms for a well earned drink.
The log fire was burning and the velvet seating was snug and inviting, and it didn’t take long for me to start posing against the fireplace which was just beautiful.
I had paired this dress very simply with my Miss L Fire ‘Adele’ shoes in black and a fabulous Hellebore hair flower from Shazam. I just felt that the dress spoke enough for itself to not need a lot of embellishments.
The lace is so delicate yet dazzling, I genuinely feel extremely special in this dress and know it will get another outing soon.
Party anyone?
Till next time,
