If you have been following my recent blogs, you will have seen how I intend to do a series of party dresses for the upcoming Christmas parties.
You may have already seen my post for the Chinese style gown.
All the gowns that Shein sent for me to review were gorgeous. All were made of fantastic materials; three velvet and one lurex. They all had a virtually ‘made to measure’ fit and a va-va-voom look.
This second dress was no slouch when it came to all of those either!
A velvet dress in a deep midnight blue, bedecked in glittery golden stars, the off-the-shoulder style gave a feminine yet sexy look.
The dress is a full length column style with the addition of a separate bejewelled belt. This can be worn with the ends tied at the back to give a smooth front finish or you can use the buckle like you normally would, passing the ends through the buckle and tightening up.
To give it another different spin, you can simply not wear the belt at all or remove the slide off buckle and have it tied in a knot as a loose sash style.
I love the way that this makes the dress multi-functional. Different looks for different events, if you will, yet priced at an amazing £31.99, it is a perfect festive dress.

Again I asked for a 4XL (size 24) which measured similarly to the other dresses at 50/42/50″ but had slightly more stretch too.
The bodice features a slight Bardot style neckline which means that I chose to wear this with a corset so that there were no straps to ruin the effect. Because it is a slinky close fitting dress, this did leave a few lines which I chose to smooth down with some shapewear.
This is purely for the aesthetic of the dress and reducing the bumps from the corset, not reducing my body size in any way. Whilst I am not against the use of shapewear for that reason, I don’t choose to use it myself, generally being happy with my bumps and lumps.
How else did I choose to accentuate this?
I decided to accessorise as if I was going out for a special night. I added a fur wrap, gold heels and a gold evening bag; in this case a small square box bag that is just about big enough to fit my bank card and lippy in!
My final view on this dress?
It is a stunning, sublime gown. The material feels divine to the touch, is beautiful to wear and stands out in a crowd. The neckline is demure yet allows for a little cleavage and the knee length split in the rear is a little cheeky yet allows for better movement.
The wiggle style of dress is both retro in styling, but with a modern twist. I felt like a princess wearing this; regal and also very glamorous.
I think this suits almost every Christmas party option and with the budget price tag you could get a few Christmas bevvies with the change!
Till next time,
