I love a good Christmas outfit.
Whether it be a skirt and matching hair-wrap, a top or a lovely dress, I enjoy getting the Christmas prints out over the festive period.
We usually have a dress-down week at work during the week before Christmas and I always make an effort to have at least one new outfit every year.
This year I couldn’t resist one of the amazing offerings from Lady V London.
The only problem was choosing which one, as they had twenty six new dresses to choose from!
Thankfully I had my eyes on one particular style, of which I had become very fond; The Elsie.
Now there were six different patterns in that style which still left me with a bit of a decision.
There were Winter Critters, Red Winter Floral, Navy Mistletoe, Xmas Trees, An Xmas Classic and Iced Out Penguins.
It was easy to reduce the choices to start with. I didn’t want anything floral as I had three Elsie dresses in floral patterns. That cast out two, the Red Winter Floral and Navy Mistletoe.
Winter Critters was very sweet, but it didn’t really speak of Christmas to me. This left Xmas Trees, Xmas Classic and the Iced Out Penguins.
Xmas Trees was quite lovely; a red background with large white trees, smaller green trees, holly, presents and fir branches.
An Xmas Classic had a dark green background with cartoon like characters. There was Santa, Rudolph, a Snowman, a Christmas Tree and a sackful of presents.
Iced Out Penguins was so funny with a cornflower blue background, cute penguin, candy canes and stockings.
The decision was getting harder.
I crossed Xmas Trees off the list as I have a lot of red dresses and it was quite classy and I wanted more of a ‘silly’ sort of dress.
As there were only two dresses left, it was getting really tricky as they both ticked all the boxes. I literally could not choose.
In the end I looked at both dresses side by side and still I couldn’t choose. In the end I went down the logical route and considered what accessories I already had and could put with them to make a gorgeous outfit.
Well, this totally helped and I put An Xmas Classic in my basket!
My plan was to debut my red Miss L Fire shoes and add Rudolph earrings and a stunning Holly half-hat that I commissioned from the wonderful Belbeina Lee
Perfect!
Even better was the Black Friday discount that I received upon ordering the dress, which reduced it from £48.00 to £33.60.
Around four days later, a black bag arrived at my doorstep with the familiar Lady V logo on it. I literally had just walked in the door and I couldn’t wait to get the package open.
The Elsie dress is made from a very stretchy 95% Polyester and 5% Elastane mix. This means that although I normally wear a size 26 in Lady V London dress, with the Elsie I can actually size down to a 22.
Elsie is so exceedingly stretchy, yet designed in such a way that it is flattering to the body as it curvy and clings in all the right places.
The cross-over bustline cups the chest and the ruching can be pulled up higher or placed lower which gives either a classy amount of cover or a little cheeky naughtiness.
I had the opportunity to wear the complete outfit on a recent trip to London with my BFF, Boo.
The Holly hat was perfect for the occasion, as were the Rudolph earrings. The only thing that didn’t make the cut was the shoes.
This was because I was planning on walking around London and high heel shoes were just a ridiculous idea!
For the purpose of the photographs I put the beautiful fuchsia shoes on and posed for Little Chick who was taking the pictures for me but when it came to London I added a pair of thick wool socks and my button design boots.
It was a perfect combination and I comfortably walked all over the City with Boo. The dress also got a fair few compliments and in one shop we were asked where our headwear was from as Boo had a smaller holly clip in her braided hair.
I have to admit to feeling exceedingly festive in my outfit and it was lovely to see Boo in her Christmas themed skirt which was covered in Baubles.
All in All, this dress is a stunner and I highly recommend the Elsie design, which comes in a multitude of non-festive themes too.
There are only a few days until Christmas so get your orders in now, if you feel this dress could be the one for you on Christmas Day.
Till next time,
