As you all know, I am the current Face of Le Keux.

This means I have had the absolute honour of representing Lynsey Le Keux and her amazing Salon brand for the past 18months or so. The extended length has been due to the Covid pandemic and the fact that we were unable to have any collaborations or events for the whole year of my reign.

Lynsey very kindly carried the award over so we could manage to have some adventures and shoots together in the past year.

Over the course of my reign, I have been lucky to receive several surprise postal gifts of the Le Keux cosmetics such as the ‘Forever On Your Lips’ range in Whistle Bait,  Peachy Keen, and Cherry Bomb.

I absolutely loved all three lipsticks and as someone who usually wears bright red lipstick, I assumed that I would wear Whistle Bait the most.

In fact, it was Cherry Bomb that I favoured; a darker vamp red. I absolutely adored the shade and wore it on an almost daily basis. In fact, I am running a little low and need to get another one.

Don’t get me wrong though, I was exceedingly happy with all three shades.

I was even happier when I got an message from Le Keux asking for my postal address again as they had a little treat to send me. I genuinely didn’t know what to expect.

Fast forward two days and the knock on the door alerted me to the fact that the postman had arrived. Handing me a small square package, I eagerly opened the outside wrapping and found a cute robin egg blue box decorated with various make-up related images.

Mascara wands, hair grips, nail varnish and more, it pointed me in the the direction of who might have sent the package.

Gleefully I opened the box and found it full of multicoloured pastel shredded paper to protect the contents.

So what were the contents?

Well there were two cute gifts inside; a pink powder puff and an atomic pattern pink cardboard tube containing a lipstick. Not just any lipstick, this was the brand new edition of ‘Diablo Rose’.

For those in the know, Diablo Rose is a well know name on the vintage/pin up scene and happens to love pink. Well, what better shade to honour Diablo with than her favourite bright pink.

Now all I needed to do was give it a go!

I have to make a small confession first. I am not a massive fan of pink lipstick at all. This is due to the fact that I find it just doesn’t go with my skin tone very well.

In fact, due to my need to match items, I never voluntarily wear pink lipstick. It is only an option when red really cannot be worn due to clashing and I need a colour on my lips.

Divine Diablo

However, I was completely wrong when it came to Diablo Rose. A subtle yet bright shade of pink, it didn’t wash me out nor clash with my complexion.

In fact, it was a beautiful colour which I felt complimented my skin tone very well indeed. It went onto my lips exceedingly well and lasted for several hours without becoming dry and ‘bitty’

Perfectly Pigmented

I drink a lot of water throughout the day and at the moment I am using a wide spout sports type bottle. There was no transfer to the spout or reduction in colour from my actual lips.

The lipstick is in the form of a brush on liquid which are my favourite kinds to use. They are far more precise than the traditional tube style lipstick, which I find can also become very soft and pliable on hot days or in hot environments which makes application even messier.

English Rose Complexion

As I have quite thin lips, I have been over-lining and painting them, especially the bottom half and this went on perfectly. As I previously mentioned it also stayed on perfectly too!

Now the other liquid lipsticks are priced at £16.00 and I would imagine that Diablo Rose will be too. However it is not yet available on the website, but I am reliably informed that it will be going on sale soon.

I can imagine it will become a total sell out. It is that good.
