In recent posts I have shown off a couple of elegant, vintage style outfits from Shein including the Teal 1930’s gown and wig.
This time I am going for something totally different and a whole lot more modern.
A beautiful yellow stretchy dress with multicolour ‘ethnic’ inspired prints. puff sleeves and a lightly sweetheart inspired neckline.
I had seen this dress on one of the adverts on Facebook or the internet and immediately went onto the site to check it out as I wanted to see if it was available in the plus size range.
Thankfully it was and so I had a quick peek at the sizing as I know that Sheins size guides are second to none. I love the fact that they give you the exact inches or centimetres that every single garment has.
I can tell if an outfit is going to fit me and not bother ordering based on the dimensions given. That meant I knew the dress would certainly be big enough.
But therein lies the crux. It is sometimes difficult to tell if an outfit will be TOO big, as the dimensions sound right, but sometimes the design throws a spanner in the works and that was the case a little with this beautiful dress.
What I mean by that is although it fit exceptionally well over the hips, tummy and breasts, I have quite small shoulders which are very sloping and the sleeves were just too big on me.
Every few minutes during the photograph taking, I was having to pull up the sleeves and re-adjust how it was sitting.
This can be easily rectified as the top of the cap sleeve is a thin piece of elastic inside a little hem. This means I can potentially make a small hole in one end, pull the elastic tighter, sew down, cut off and close the hole.
I honestly think that by doing that it will make this dress an even better fit and look and I know I am more likely to wear it again.
So, how exactly did I style this up?
Well in a very simplistic way; my favourite blond bob wig and some lovely Lulu-Hun sandals featuring straps of white, yellow, red and green. On my left wrist I added a stack of bangles, all different colours; emerald, yellow, pink, pistachio and egg yolk.
The dress is very easy to style as it has so many colours to compliment it and at only £14.49 before discount it really is a great buy.
Of course, if yellow doesn’t float your boat, you can get this divine dress in hot pink or a brick red colour. Personally the yellow is still my favourite, but the hot pink comes a close second.
Oh and don’t forget if you do fancy purchasing this dress, my readers always get 15% discount off of the whole Shein website, by using my free code – Tanyab15
Can’t say fairer than that now, can you?
Till next time,
