Many of you will know of the Irregular Choice brand; wild, wacky and also wonderous shoes and bags that you either love or hate.
Some of the designs (in my humble opinion) are ludicrous and so over the top that they are hideously beautiful. Others are simple, stunning and effective.
Yet all capture the eye.
In all the time I have lusted over certain Irregular Choice shoes, I have only ever purchased the one pair. This is mainly due to the price range being a little out of my league for every day wear.
The basic of heeled shoes are around the £90 mark, going right up to over £200 for some of the wilder, limited edition offerings and whilst I might love them, I would baulk at wearing them out (especially in our inclement weather) for fear of ruining them.
However I simply couldn’t resist diving into the IC pool when I saw a massive sale on both the IC website and a shoe website I have often looked on, The Shoe Emporium based up in Mansfield.
All of the shoes I ordered were a size 5 as my previous experience with a size 4 proved to be so uncomfortable and horrid to wear. I knew that when the shoes arrived I would need some heel grips as I am more of a 4.5, but getting those in most brands is rare.
The photographs will show the gap at the back of the shoe, but once I attached the grips, this will be eradicated.
So, what did I splurge on?
My first pair were ones I seen before and thought would match one of my dresses (if not more) and were very girly and just up my street.
Boujee Babe comes in several colours, but the one I liked the most was baby pink/silver sequin.
Now why do I say pink/silver sequin? Well, these are like those cushions and jumpers you can get where there is a sequin design and you can flip it to another colour or picture.
You can jazz up the shoes by having silver splodges all over them, or stay minimalistic and keep it all pink. I have to admit both options are absolutely lovely.
Boujee Babes (BBs) come with a mock croc Louis style heel approximately 3 ¾ inches high. which follows up to the back of the heel with a little curved pattern down the side.
The front of the shoe has a beautiful pink bow on it. Now I say a bow. This isn’t any old bow, but a double or triple bow with lots of pleated layers in the most gorgeous of raspberry/mulberry kind of colour.
I ordered these from The Shoe Emporium in their massive sale (which is still going on) and was just a total bargain. Down from £99 to £49.50, they were calling my name, so in they went to my basket.
Sadly The Shoe Emporium doesn’t have any left in pink BUT fear not, the glamorous black or purple with rainbow like sequin BBs are still available in the sale.
If you feel you HAVE to have these in pink, then for £59.99 you can get these from the IG website which is still a saving of £40 a pair.
My second pair are the shoes of dreams… The Nick of Time in red sequin.
Now these remind me of the Ruby Slippers in ‘The Wizard of Oz’ and immediately I had to know if they had them in my size.
Of course they did and at the amazing bargain price of £39.99 I literally couldn’t resist them.
As it was, IG already do a Range of ‘Oz’ shoes, including three different style of Ruby Slippers, boots with a squashed witch and even Emerald City shoes.
Most of them feature a large Wizard of Oz heart on the back heel and I have to admit I just wanted a shoe without all the extra embellishments, although I did like the ‘Green with Evil‘ boots.
This was where the Nick of Time shoes were perfect. Red sparkling sequins and a red velvet sculpted heel. Adorned with a big red velvet bow, the shoes just answered all my childhood dreams and I could think of several dresses that I would wear the shoes with.
Sadly these are now sold out on the IC website, but they do come in quite a lot of other colours and fabrics, so it certainly is worth going and having a look.
The last pair was one that I had seen before Christmas and would have loved to have had to compliment some of my festive outfits.
However as soon as I saw that the ‘Party Ready‘ shoes were on a 50% off sale on The Shoe Emporium, I just couldn’t resist them, even though I knew I wouldn’t really be able to wear them for nearly a whole year!
Party Ready are a fantastic glittery pair of shoes; brown and red with a gold zig zag separating the two colours. The main feature is a red nosed reindeer, including antlers and a red fuzzy nose.
Priced at just £55.00 on the Shoe Emporium, they are my Festive dream shoes and I know that these will go with three or four of my Christmas outfits. I am almost planning them out already; dresses, shoes, bag and novelty earrings.
Makes me almost wish it was Christmas again soon!
But not too soon….
Till next time,
