Recently I posted about a fantastic pair of tights that I had purchased from the amazing Snag, The Bees Knee’s.
These were a brilliant collaboration with Jamie Campbell, the real life inspiration behind the hit musical and film, ‘Everybody’s talking about Jamie’ and I absolutely loved the fact that they would match with a Honey Bee dress that I have had for a couple of years.
At the same time I also bought another pair of Jamie’s tights, titled ‘Tied Up’.
These were a fabulous design; black plain 40 denier tights at the front, but the action literally is all going on in the back. Pink criss-cross ribbons cover a sheer section that starts at the heel and goes all the way up to the top.
As soon as I saw these tights, I knew I had to order a pair.
Several years ago I had purchased a pair of stockings from Ann Summers that featured a pink ribbon design with bows on. I absolutely loved them and bought the largest pair, supposedly for a size 22-24 (which is what I was at that point).
I couldn’t even get them up beyond my knees.
It was absolutely gutting and I still remember those beautiful stockings.
Of course Jamie’s design is totally different with the sheer section, but the basis of having a lacing up effect was one that I couldn’t resist..
The best part about Jamies designs are that they follow they same brief as all the snag products; as inclusive as possible size wise. This takes on more than just waist size.
For those of you who aren’t au fait with Snag, they have a measuring system that takes in height, dress size and curviness. All you need to do is look at your height, dress size and whether you are Curvilicious (prominent bum and/or tum) or Athletic (small or flat bum and/or tum)
This will then give you a simple letter to remember.
Given that I am under 5’3, wear a dress size 24/26 and am curvilicious, my sizing comes out as a Small F. This is opposed to a normal F which is for people taller than I.
The Snag tights start at below 5’3 and go right up to 6’5. Their dress sizes from size 4 to size 36. Now that isn’t too bad for great inclusivity. Of course, there will always be people who are even smaller, taller, thinner and larger than those, but there does have to be a stopping point.
Anyway, I digress.
The tights are so different to any others I have ever hard, regardless of the brand. The fact that there is a sheer panel woven in between the 40 denier is just so very clever. Added to that are the criss cross pink straps, and you have a design masterpiece.
So, how did they look when worn?
Well, Bloomin’ well fantastic if you ask me!
In order to emphasise the brilliant design, I added a pair of silver heels as I really wanted the tights to stand out as the main event.
I know there are still a few pairs left on the Snag website, although most of the collection has since sold out. If you fancy a pair of spectacular tights, get yourself over there before they do sell out.
In fact, I might need to get another pair for myself, just in case…
Till next time,
