For the past two years, I have been fortunate enough to be the ‘Face of Le Keux’ which meant I have had the pleasure and honour of representing the brand via photoshoots and visits to the salons in both Birmingham and Southend.

Sadly my time had come to an end and it was time to hand over my ‘crown’ to the new Queen.

Before that though it seemed only fitting to head up to Birmingham for a final shoot and to make it even better, it was arranged for both myself and Boo.

Back-combed to the Heavens!

Heading for the salon at 1030, Boo and I had outfits galore and all the accessories to go along with them. Sadly Lyndsey wasn’t able to be there, but left us in the capable hands of her lovely staff.

Sadly Storm Eunice was still in full effect and I looked like a drowned rat. Windswept and Interesting as some might have said.

Transformation Time

Plonking myself down in front of a vintage dressing-table mirror, I really looked a state, but thankfully I knew that would be far behind me once Peaches got her hands on me.

As Boo doesn’t ‘do’ vintage hair regularly, I suggested that she chose her look first and I would go with something completely different. Boo chose to go with a ‘Poodle’ do, which involved lots of curls on the top of her head.

Half Way There

I decided to go with the slightly simpler option of large victory rolls and waves at the back.
Firstly my hair was tonged and pinned into curls to allow the set to, well, set!

Then Peaches really went to town on it with the backcombing and spraying before starting to create the large off-centre rolls.

Brushing the back out into soft waves, my hair was finished, sprayed and perfected.

Now it was time for the make-up.

Peaches asked if I had any strong preference and I basically stated ‘Just do whatever you fancy’!

All Finished!

And that was precisely what she did.

Strong eyebrows, classy eye-liner wings and of course, the bright red lipstick finished it all off and I literally LOVED the results.

Then it was Boo’s turn, so I started organising my accessories and hair flowers. I wanted to get all the things together that would compliment my specific outfits and also cut out some of the time in between changes.

So, what exactly did I take to wear?

Boo’s Turn

My first outfit was the Mocha Cupcake dress, with cream patent heels, bangles, and a lovely two-piece set of flowers from Shazam.

I threw my vintage stole over the top and I was ready to go.

All Ready and Raring to Go

As much as I love the whole process of being in front of a camera, it certainly doesn’t come easy but I do have prop ideas and the usage of different things then leads me to working out specific poses.

Boo had her hair all finished and her make-up was well under way when I was called to start taking the first photographs.

Feathered Fancy

Strutting about in my huge high heels, I powdered my face, dusted some cabinets, wiped down a table and even pretended to drink a cup of tea.

Primping and posing in front of the camera, I loved every second of it, showing off my dress, my hair and pouting until I laughed.

Oooh Cheeky!

Then Boo joined me in her beautiful burgundy gown and we clowned about together. It was so wonderful to have a proper catch up, nattering about life in general and also talking about our next possible holiday together.

Boo Bossing It!

I had taken three or four outfits with me, but only needed two for the shoot. It only took me a minute to choose my second outfit; a red tulle cocktail dress which has a matching bolero.

Boo chose a beautiful pink and black polka dotted dress by Vixen and looked an absolute dream in it.

Ravishing Red

Posing by a vintage telephone, she really did look as if she had fallen out of the 1950’s.

Again, we used the props and the salon to full advantage, flashing a bit of leg, pouting and saucily posing for the camera.

Polka Dot Perfect

I had seen a military hat in the props box and wanted to try and get a couple of snaps with the hat perched on my Victory rolls.

Boo managed to get a few ‘behind the scenes’ pictures and I was thrilled with the results.

Saucy Secretary

Finally we had finished the shoot and we finally had time for a wonderful milkshake. Whilst that was being made we popped on a couple more dresses and took some pictures of our own using the salon as the backdrop.

Boo convinced me to try on her polka dot dress as I wasn’t sure it would actually fit, and she put on the cutest blue gingham dress.

Perfect Pink Poses

After taking a few cheeky snaps we sat down with our amazing milkshakes and savoured them. Having another good natter, we put the World to rights and before long it was time to get in the car for the journey’s home.

Both of us had an amazing time and are looking forward to getting the proper photographs through.
