It’s been a long time since I have been on holiday with my bestie, Boo.
We had got quite into the habit of having two or three city breaks a year and enjoyed time together in Poland, Hungary, France, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Austria, Lithuania, Portugal and Greece.
Some of those places we even re-visited for a second time as we loved the City of Budapest and also Disneyland Paris.
We were due to go to Croatia in December 2020, then a second visit to Athens in 2021 but that all stopped once the world ended for almost two years due to the Covid pandemic.
Cancellation after Cancellation followed as firstly we were in a total lockdown and then once we were out of that, you still couldn’t travel anywhere.
And for those of us sensible people, you didn’t really want to travel anywhere anyway as you couldn’t really tell if it was safe to do so.
Roll on two years and I think pretty much most people need a holiday. I know that I certainly do. Times have been hard and the stress levels have been unbelievable.
But now it is a mere 4 days until Boo and I take off on our first trip post-Covid.
And this time we have gone for somewhere new and totally different; Italy.
Bologna in fact.
Perfectly positioned in the Northern half of the Country, it is a perfect base for touring around.
The renowned Cities of Verona, Pisa, Florence and Genoa are within one – two hours by train. The principality of San Marino is also a similar distance.
Perfect for visiting many treasures of architecture and art plus sights to be seen.
Oh and of course you can’t forget the Pizza, Pasta and Gelato.
Especially the Gelato!
We are off for eight days, taking over the Easter break so the blog might be a bit sparse over that period but bear with me; the blogs after the trip will certainly be worth the wait!
Till next time,
