Regular readers will probably remember some recent posts I have written about the wonderfully talented Lisa from Doodlebug Bags.
Using her crafty talents she crochets and knits up a storm using vintage patterns to create bespoke items for us vintage loving ladies.
My first purchase from Lisa was a stunning teal ribbed U shaped bag with a lining that matched a Pake Muu dress I had made.
Following on from that I ordered a mustard and brown wheel bag with a tied turban, then a pink half moon bag with matching snood and finally a black circular topper hat with a muff bag which keeps your hands warm as well as be stylish.
I absolutely loved the topper hat and knew it would get quite a lot of wear, even though it was a standard black. Usually I would confine the heavier, darker items to my Winter wardrobe but I knew this set would be perfect to wear throughout the year.
Then I saw a creation that Lisa was making which ticked all the summery boxes; an off white half moon bag with stripes of rainbow colours.
I immediately text Lisa to enquire whether she could make a topper hat in the same style, with the multicoloured lines.
She told me the idea was an excellent one and certainly do-able.
Well, I almost jumped for joy.
Obviously I commissioned Lisa to make the items for me, knowing that when she had completed them, she would let me know. I wasn’t in any rush or so I thought.
When Lisa sent me a message to say she had finished my items and showed me the final result, I was so eager to get my hands on the items and wear them out.
They were stunning; completely unique and so very me.
The only downside was that I don’t currently have an outfit that this matches it. Well, at least I don’t think I do. In order to show it off, I took it along to a recent shoot at The Aviator Sywell.
Wearing one of my favourite outfits, a 1940’s style hunter green jumpsuit, I took a whole ream of photographs. Whilst I love the photos, I am very cognisant of the fact that the jumpsuit doesn’t really go very well.
I guess that means just one thing.
A search for a suitable outfit is at the top of my list!
Of course, I will show it off once I curate the whole look.
Till next time,
