Last week I shared a dress from a new collaboration between Retro Peaches and Shein Clothing.
If you want to check that out, you can see it all here.
I promised that I would premier the next two dresses separately as they are too good to put all in one post.
So this is the second dress and certainly more of a dressy outfit. In fact, it is so beautiful I wore it out for dinner this past weekend.
The dress I am talking about is the Leopard print one-shouldered velvet dress
I ordered the dress in the largest on offer, a 4XL (size 24) and hoped the measurements would fit. Based on the fact that the guide states there is a fair amount of stretch in the material, I knew it would be touch and go.
The bust measurements for this dress register at just over 47 inches and I really need 53 inches. But as with all of the clothing from Shein, I could always send it back.
I added this, the other two collab dresses into my basket alongside some lashes, glue and some earrings. Given a 20% discount of my basket, I was thrilled to find the dress came down from £30.99 to a bargain £24.49.
When it came to trying the dress out, I was absolutely thrilled to find that it not only fitted, but was exceedingly flattering.
In fact, I could have possibly sized down in this dress as there was a lot of stretch and room.
But was it any good?
No it wasn’t.
It was EXCEPTIONAL, in fact!
The velvet is soft and high quality. It is very thick and luscious, not cheap and nasty. The dress has so much material that it certainly could work with a full petticoat underneath.
I chose to wear it in its simplified style; just adding patent shoes and some green earrings.
The leopard print drape is also made of velvet, thick and heavy but not in a distracting way. In fact, it hangs really beautifully and compliments the dress very well.
Wearing this dress was so easy; comfortable, not tight in any way and exceedingly flattering. I felt glamorous as soon as I put it on, like an old screen icon from the golden years of Hollywood
On the night out I accessorised my make-up with some emerald green eyeshadow and false lashes. The de rigeur red lipstick finished the look off.
I headed out to a local Caribbean restaurant and it was a perfect choice as the full skirt allowed for lots of room with all the scrumptious food I consumed.
This dress really is an absolute stunner and would be perfect for any occasion when you need to be elegant whilst remaining comfortable.
That sounds such a weird statement, but what I mean by it is that this dress gives you the feeling of being completely glamorous whilst not having to wear spanx or a bodysuit to suck all the lumps and bumps in.
All in all, this dress is a winner. It really ticks all the boxes whilst being a little different too. In fact, I couldn’t be happier with my purchases from the collaboration.
Of course there is still one more to go…
And in my opinion I have saved the best till last.
Till next time,
