If you have been following my recent purchases from the Shein X Retro Peaches collaboration, you will have seen the first two outfits that I reviewed.
Number one was a stunning leopard print full dress with little puff mesh sleeves and bust area. If you fancy having a look, you can see it here.
The second was a real favourite of mine, the one shoulder velvet and leopard print dress. I wore it to a recent meal out and felt like a million dollars. You can read all about it here.
Now there was a third dress to review and I think I have saved the best to last.
This time it was the “Leopard Print Dress” which I feel is not very well named if I am honest.
The reason for this is that the dress is actually a full skirted green velvet dress with a central section that is leopard print velvet only.
One of the main reasons this dress ‘called’ to me was the fact that this central section is actually a design of it’s own; a straight ‘wiggle’ style dress. The green ‘overskirt’ creates an unusual look and I absolutely loved it.
I ordered the dress in a size 24 which had the measurements of 46.9/42.1/51.2. I knew these were a little skimpy for my own shape however I knew the material had quite a lot of stretch so went with it and placed my order.
Priced at just £28.49, with discount it came to a fab £22.65.
When the delivery arrived, I was quite apprehensive but after testing the first two dresses I just knew this was going to be the best of them all.
And I have to say I was completely right.
The heavyweight velvet was absolutely divine. It draped my curves beautifully and was both flattering and yet a little figure flaunting.
I absolutely adore the deep green velvet material and it seriously is exceptional quality. The design gives a fullness to the skirt which also gives it great movement.
Whilst it isn’t a ‘swing’ dress as such, I do feel that this would be great as a dancing dress, the skirt would flare out and also swing back down around the legs.
Add a pair of seamed stockings and my t-bar patent shoes and I think it would be perfect for a night on the tiles.
In this case as it was the middle of the day, on a Sunday, I wasn’t going to be going on any tiles.
However, I did my hair and make-up and put on my jewellery and then the delightful dress.
I did plan on adding the stockings but to be totally honest, my bad leg was still causing issues and trying to get seams straight when you can barely stand straight was never going to work well.
Instead I added the black t-bar shoes and that was all that the outfit needed.
As I mentioned earlier, this dress was my favourite of all three and I think you can probably see why.
Flattering, yet form-fitting, I adore wearing this dress. It is so very easy to wear yet really packs a punch whilst not being too loud and brash.
There are ten dresses in the Retro Peaches X Shein Collaboration ranging in price from £31.49 and £16.49 and are all based on Emerald Green, Leopard Print and Tartan.
I would be more than happy to own every single piece of clothing in the collaboration however there are a couple that I don’t think would fit.
This is for no other reason than when looking at the tartan creations, they seem to be of a material that I don’t believe has any stretch.
Looking at the measurements, I doubt even the best design can allow for a difference of around 10 inches all round.
As I have said many times, do make sure you check the size guide for every single item that you are interested in on the Shein website.
Not everything is the ‘standard’ size that you expect at other retailers, so what you might need in a size 26 might work out as a 22 or vice versa.
You might also be surprised by the quality too!
Till next time,
