A few weeks back I had an email from the lovely Emily representing a shoe brand, Fitville enquiring whether I would be interested in a collaboration.
Of course as much as I love to work with companies, I always go and have a look at the products to see what they are all about and decide whether the offer is a good fit.
In this case I was exceedingly chuffed to be asked as the products were both fabulous and potentially very helpful with my ongoing mobility issues.
Fitville pride themselves on creating standard shoes and training/walking shoes that help a variety of issues including plantar fasciitis, flat feet, bunions, hammer toes, arthritis and neuropathy amongst other ailments.
This absolutely called to me as not only do I have my dodgy legs (right knee and left calf) I am also flat footed AND have bouts of Plantar Fasciitis.
I tend to find that shoes with a wedge or supportive sole help with my walking as well as for sheer comfort. On a recent trip to Chicago I took along a couple of pairs of sketchers and they were invaluable.
Since then I have got a lot more used to wearing sports style shoes with my big dresses instead of my various sandals that compliment my outfits.
This was a bit difficult for me to get my head around as you all know that I have a thing about making sure I ‘match’. However necessity means that I need to go for as much comfort as possible as I am in constant pain.
Literally anything that can help with the situation is a huge bonus and this was evident as soon as I put the first pair of Fitville trainers on.
I gratefully accepted the offer and was asked to choose a few pairs. I sent my options off and was a little shocked when I received notification they were going to send me three different pairs!
Literally anything that can help with the situation is a huge bonus and I hoped this would be the case when I got to try my first pair of Fitville Footwear.
In this case it was the Women’s Rebound Core Shoe in Rose Red
Featuring a wide toe-box, anti skid sole, high insteps and a removable arch support insole, the rebound core shoe was also a good looking shoe and reasonably priced at £76.95
Mulberry coloured suede is interspersed with 3D mesh and grey accents including the front of the sole and the back of the heel.
The Fitville ranges come in a few widths; medium, wide and extra wide. Given that they already have a wide toe box, this gives the wearer a real choice regarding their level of comfort.
Now must people would say that wearing a brand new pair of shoes for an 8 hour shift on a first wear is pretty stupid.
The risk of blisters, sore spots, unknown discomfort from a brand new pair of shoes is HIGH!
But I wore these all day and into the evening. Actually by mid morning I had forgotten that I had new shoes on. They literally were THAT comfortable.
One of the best features is the Propelcore technology which creates a really supportive and ‘solid’ shoe without feeling like you are wearing concrete blocks on your feet.
In fact putting these shoes on felt like I was bouncing on clouds.
Absolutely no word of a lie, I wore them for a whole day at work, where I had to travel between bases, conduct meetings and rush around after work picking up some items from a retailer.
Whilst I don’t know that the footwear will fix my leg issues but I do know one thing.
They will give me support, stability, comfort and more whilst trying to get my health and fitness back to a better more capable level.
As I mentioned earlier, they sent me a total of 3 pairs and I plan on reviewing the other two pairs on up and coming adventures!
Till next time,
